Playing video games is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby or something we do in our spare time. There are so many other things in this world and our lives that bring stress, frustration and unhappiness. Don't let a golf game be 1 of them!!! Enjoy it, have fun, that is what this is all about. Even the guys that finish 1st every week are not getting $1 for it. Worry about the real problems in life and let this be a relaxing, enjoyable thing to do. Have fun all! Fuzzymayonnaise is an awesome screen name.

My goals were to get a PGA Tour card (check) and from there make as many cuts as I can. I would like to think I haven't maxed out my abilities yet, by the end of the season I will have likely played 2-3 times more rounds than I had logged previously so it would be nice for me to see some improvement by season end. Making a cut for a major would be pure icing and winning a tournament would be nothing short of a miracle.
My one other goal would be to create 1 course and refine it to perfection such that it may get consideration for a tournament somewhere down the line.
I fully agree with the nature of Tim's original post. There are many goals people can set that are just as fun to attain as winning a tournament which very few will be able to do.

I have never believed in what fuzzy mayonnaise has told me more than the above... Personally, fuzzy mayonnaise usually makes me sick. But in this case It has spread on a good amount of reality and perspective for which there is no expiry date!

My point in the other thread isn't about winning every tournament. Its about the unfair advantage some players here have regarding playing in wind or not. Sitting around waiting for 3mph wind while everyone else is playing in 15 mph wind kinda tarnishes each tournament. Goals are great and all but when competitors are gaining unfair advantages it makes playing in these tournaments a waste of time. In my opinion at least. I think most of the top players are playing the wind as they get them, there is going to be a day when the wind will not be able to be waited out, may as well get used to it now is their thoughts on the matter. So I believe it to be an assumption that the good score is coming from the lack of wind, and more based in hope then reality.

Whoaaaaah! where did you read this please, all the answers I have seen HB give, are those guffahs and coughs about we may give tournament makers the ability.

I think most of the top players are playing the wind as they get them I'm highly doubting that...there's plenty of posts in this forum and elsewhere where players are claiming how they wait around during tournaments for the wind to stop. Whatever the case, it is obviously out of this leagues ability to do anything about it. To me, it seems like pretty some lazy development on the part of HB for allowing wind in tournaments to be this way. It is what it is and I'm done talking about it. Im going to take a few weeks off the tournaments to see how things play out.

I only have two goals and they are pretty simple 1. Wake up in the morning 2. Make it to the bathroom unaided Anything after that I consider a bonus. Doesn't matter how well or badly I do, just love the feeling of these tournaments and being involved in general. Makes a great game even better. Hats off to all responsible in making this happen for all us lucky players. Additional thanks to all the incredibly talented course designers, giving us unlimited replay value.

Goals: 1) Make the PGA/Euro Tours (CHECK) 2) Make the cut in at least half the tournaments I enter 3) Play in a WGC Event 4) Play in a Major 5) Retain TOUR Card for next season 6) Make it to the end of season events
Hopes: 1) Top 25 in any event 2) Make the cut at a major
Finally, on a side note about players waiting to play in more favorable conditions.
I recall a number of times during the US OPEN, most recently occurring at Bethpage Black, the morning wave on Thursday got beautiful weather. The afternoon wave got socked with soaking rains. The rains continued into Friday, when the same wave started in the morning. Lo and behold, the rains ends by the time the afternoon wave got started. (Phil was in the Morning wave, Tiger in the afternoon wave)
The effect was that the Thursday AM/Friday PM wave was blessed with near perfect conditions, and the Thursday PM/Friday AM wave had to fight the worst weather of the week.
You don't have to be an expert in golf to know which side of the draw had the best scores.
Personally, I would rather play my rounds when the winds are light, but I find I play a little better with a slight 8-10mph breeze.
