Thanks KenTremendous, I think it is a big improvement. One of the struggles I had with Overfield C.C. is that I felt like I learned so much as I went along, so my back 9 was better than the front. My entire design "process" with Forgedale is different. For example, I'm laying out the holes, putting down textures, and sculpting, but I'm not doing any planting yet. I have notes on paper of ideas for each hole, but I'll do all of the planting together to maintain consistency. I actually felt like my plantings at Overfield were slightly different on the beginning holes than the later holes because there was too much time in between and it affected my consistency. I'm currently using scampi00'S technique for laying out the bunkers. I plan everything with the distance tool, including width of fairway, landing spots, and width of green. Then I decide how I want the bunkers to play on the hole, and I put those in. Then I finalize the fairway around them. I haven't streamed any of my design work yet, but you can kind of see it in the process of hole 4 above. Let me know if you have questions. You DEFINITELY have an eye for design based on Crocodile Rock!

I figured you were placing the bunkers first, so ill give that a crack. I know what you mean about getting better as you go along. I find myself going back to earlier holes changing things with newer stuff ive learnt on more recent holes

Got any more pics? We want more! Thanks for checking in. The bulldozers hit a lot of rock on hole 6, so we've been a bit delayed. I sure hope to get back at it soon. *UPDATE: The foreman of our construction company received the complaint card from Mr. Kessler and decided to hire additional excavators to finish hole 6. His work is posted below.

Please keep in mind when reviewing these progress photos that this course isn't planted one bit. My plantings meter is at almost 0% through 7 holes, so although the routings are coming out pretty cool, I anticipate this looking a WHOLE lot different (and better) once I finish the routings and get going on the artistic side of this project. :-)

For some reason, the desert theme has a much smaller plant meter, so you'll be limited when you plant. Course is looking good.

At least your course has a name, im working on hole 6 and cant think of a good name for it and like you, the planting meter is tiny as started with it all wooded with the natural trees and plotted the course through it which has saved on planting trees.

Just loving that bunkering work.
Also looking forward to seeing just how much transformation occurs when you plant, but i get the sense its maybe a course that doesnt require a high concentration of planting?

I don't believe so. I have notes on each hole with some ideas, but it's not going to require a ton of multi-plant or autogen at all.

Too many guys leaning on shovels and sitting on idle bulldozers! The construction foreman needs to be fired.

The Green Party has filed submissions seeking a stop work order on Forgedale due to all the diesel pollution stemming from the steady stream of dump trucks carrying in that icing sugar sand.
Judge Sandy Lyes is expected to render his decision later in the week, as he is still considering final arguments presented by Nesbit Golf International, and Green Party counsel, Seymour Naycher.
