Russian Hackers to Blame for Delay?
(AP) In what has rapidly become the international excuse du jour, you had to know it wouldn't take long before Arizona-based Nesbit Golf International joined Donald Trump and Qatar as the latest victim of Russian hackers.
According to unnamed sources within the Forgedale Springs project, construction workers arrived on site as usual at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday to find a number of Trabis parked alongside the perimeter fencing. Early estimates had as many as six vehicles on the property.
An on-site course inspection was hastily called, and workers quickly discovered that hacking had indeed taken place.
"There were deep divots all over the course, particularly on the eighth fairway and the 18th green," said foreman Harry Willie. "And none of them had been replaced."
Damage to the course is estimated at well over $125,000.
TreeWood Times' international correspondent Boris Bykov said that the attack had all the earmarks of a Russian hacking operation. "We found several empty 26'ers of Stolichnaya, a broken three-iron, a dozen empty packs of Marlboros, and an I.D. card for membership in the Vladamir Putin fan club," he said.
Nesbit International CEO Eric Nesbit later gave this statement:
"We will be taking steps to ensure this does not happen again, and are working closely with local, state, and federal jurisdictions, along with other assets, to track these individuals down, and bring them to justice."
Penalties in such cases have involved forcible playing of Rory McIlroy 2017, and sleep deprivation as a result of NPR blared out at 104 db night and day. In July of 2007, a group of Canadian hackers were convicted and sentenced to a night in the cellblock with Justin Bieber, and a year without maple syrup.
Rumours persist, however, that it wasn't Russians who were responsible, but, instead, disgruntled Forgedale Springs construction workers. The investigation continues...

I guess I have to bump this thread back to the top. I ported this course over, and it's a mess! It's like it's not even the same! There are cacti everywhere, many of my trees have been swapped with other vegetation or more cacti, the lighting isn't the same... I'm devastated. Who knows if it'll ever be like it was, but I'll try to replace everything.
My first day with TGC2 was awful.

Damn that's terrible to hear! How do the other themed versions look ported over?

I heard that Canuck had the same issue with a desert course he tried to port over. Likely just an issue with the theme.

Damn that's terrible to hear! How do the other themed versions look ported over? I only ported the desert. I probably won't port the others over, I just did that for fun on TGC1.

Right but of porting one of the other themes over then reconverting back to desert you might not have the same issues as porting the desert theme directly. I mean you have them made already its worth taking a peek at.

Maybe try to flip it to Steppe? Just a quick thought.

As I'm really digging into this, I see what happened. The round cactus from TGC1 is now a multi-armed cactus, and so everywhere I had one of those, it's now a regular cactus, but based on the way I had them scaled, the new cacti are also scaled respectively. So, if I had a big round cactus before, it's now a huge multi-armed cactus.
That definitely sucks, because I did actually go through and plant those round cacti and size them individually, on purpose, the way I wanted them.
Not gonna lie, this is really disappointing!

Maybe try to flip it to Steppe? Just a quick thought. Unfortunately that didn't work. That actually put about a thousand more cacti in. Good thought though, was worth a try. I'm just manually scrubbing each hole for crap I don't like.

Sadly, Forgedale Springs Golf Club is no longer. Because the default setting for tee set 1 is to be the front tees, I hadn't noticed before publishing that the course was now a par 69 instead of 72 (because three of my par 5's from the forward tees are short, the game decided it would make those par 4's). I am beyond frustrated with TGC2 in so many ways at this point. So unfortunately, this course did get published in TGC2 as Forgedale Springs Golf Club but it's a par 69, and that's not how I want it to play, so I had to republish with a different name after I fixed that. I'll put up a new thread in Completed Courses with the official TGC2 name of this course. Ugh!

I'm not having a good time with the TGC2 course designer either, its been a beyond frustrating experience. Glad you were able to get a correct version published though, looking forward to playing it.
