Watcher of the Watchers Report 13 Hours Remaining
There are 24 watchers hanging about the tree tops of Pinehurst and a couple of Lurkers snuck onto the course the Watchersafezone is still at -8 -7 is 63% down 4% for tblakeshow and the 2 other Americans. should be more than safe with the withdrawals alone -6 is 50% down 4% As soon as I have faith the U-Turn begins sorry bogeyman , Tim , BMann1976 taffwars2904 I may of cursed us -5 and worse are cut Projected Cutline : -6 Nah, we are safe. 12 people have to pass us to be cut. 18 people left to play. Usually get around 12 to 15 who do not finish. That leaves 6 people that could pass us. I see only 3 people who have played Round 1 that could pass us after playing Round 2. We are safe.

So it seems -9 is enough to make the cut I really wasn't confident about it. Now I wonder where a total -18 will place me.

Well, very much a tournament of two halves for me. Made the cut by the skin of my teeth which was a nice surprise in itself. Rounds 1 & 4 I went -17 Rounds 2 & 3 not so good +6 Anyway looking forward to Carolina Low next week (and the US Open Qualifier) and who knows? I may have earned enough virtual dollars to pay for dinner at Pinehurst on Sunday night.

I had to rush round three yesterday so mistakes were made, dropped my first shots of the week to finish three under. Since today is my last round, going to try enjoy Pinehurst as much as I can, a no pressure round that will hopefully bring a lot of fun. It was nice to see that the winds had calmed down a little but it did not help me get a birdie on the first, so my usual par start. A poor approach on the second sent my ball right to the edge of the green leaving a fifty foot downhill putt, somehow I managed to get the line and speed spot on for a perfect putt. It does not happen that often but it feels good when it does, one under. No mistakes with my approach on the third, a good pitch to leave three feet to go two under and the best start of the week for me. To far right again on four, I will admit to having thoughts of sinking another long range putt but it was not to be, it was a good effort but just passed the left hand side of the cup, a good par none the less. I came within inches of eagle on the fifth, the conditions meant the hole was playing easy and could be attached, my third shot just stopped a couple inches short, happy to take birdie to continue my positive start. A disappointing tee shot on six had my ball roll off the right side of the green into a bunker leaving a ackward distance, I got the bunker shot close enough for a safe par. I did not play seven well, left my approach short but still had a pretty much straight putt that I managed to miss, first real chance not taken so that was disappointing. A par on eight before a good tee shot gave me a great chance to finish the back nine on a high, just five feet and I missed it, I misjudged the break and lipped out, not a bad front nine, but a couple of shots left behind.
I made a mess out of the tenth, I left my pitch to the green a fraction short and watched the ball roll back off the green, a week chip never looked like getting close and a par putt I should have made, missed right, to many poor shots and I got what I deserved. I went off the back of the green on eleven, another mistake, I managed to get up and down for par this time but my steady play from the front nine seems to have abandoned me. I found my range again on twelve giving me a tap in birdie, a couple of more shots like that and I would be back on track. Thirteen brought another birdie but to be honest, the hole was playing easy and birdie had to be made, still I have messed up easy holes many times so always good to see it drop. I failed to find the green on the next two holes, both greens I should have made easily, maybe I was a little to relaxed, and not paying enough attention, two safe pars on holes where I might have picked up a shot. Another missed green on sixteen, the difference this time was a poor chip which meant I dropped a shot instead of par. I did not pay enough attention to the green and my chip rolled a lot further than planned, back to three under. I got that shot back on the next hole when I finally managed to stay on the green leaving a straightforward putt. I finished my team at Pinehurst with a birdie on the last for my third round of five under this week.
I really enjoyed this week, at times it brought out the best in me, at times the not so good. Overall I played steady and happy with my eighteen under over all score, a fair reflection on the way I played. It's a fantastic golf course that was a pleasure to play. After a difficult few weeks, it's nice to have a comfortable mid table finish. So on to Carolina Low where anything can happen and if the wind is up, I am sure it will.

Dave Wilks came off the course after his 3rd round, bemoaning the fact that his putts weren't dropping but happy enough to be sat at -20 after 3 rounds. When asked about R4 he said " going to have a few hours break (WORK) then chill watching the cricket, I'll be playing in the lovely summer evening sunshine"

Dave Wilks ran into the clubhouse shouting "where's the £$%£$ bar". When asked to calm down by the house manager, he replied "I'm gonna get p£%$$£d, top 10 finish, but looks like ill miss out on an exemption, but at least the wife & 10 kids will be eating well this week"
-5 R4 total -25
LOVED THAT COURSE EVEN WITH THE WINDS, well done Moe Slorkman

61, 67, 62, 63 for -27 overall for the tournament. Playing up on my exemption, so I've earned my card. Played well, but as usual I couldn't putt and left some easy ones out there
