Hoofta boys. My first appearance in the web as a card holder. don't know how some of you are doing it. I did not play well yes, but I'd only give myself maybe 4 strokes more and I woulda been satisfied. Could not get anything close whatsoever. -4 -4 Think I missed my first cut. It Is a fun course though, so I hope by some miracle I made the cut. Welcome to the Web tour racin18jason. This weeks course is a great recreation of Pinehurst #2 but was playing on the difficult side, between the winds and rather unforgiving pin locations. Once you get used to the firmer and faster greens you will do grand. Next week should be a bit more forgiving, in the way of firmness at least. Just make sure you have your thinking cap on because the course is a very thought orientated one rather than a most grip it and rip it style of play.

I'm having a brief visit to the euro tour this week, but I'll be amongst you boys next week. Think I'll have a bash at this later in the week, see I've still got my web groove on lol

Ya I don't mind fast greens, actually I prefer it as it helps break up the scores. This week I didn't feel as if the green speeds were crazy, but pin placement and wind had me in between clubs. just had extremely long putts every time. In round one I felt like the slopes and wind number didn't match to ball in flight. if it was a 5mph crosswind, it seemed as if it was a 10mph crosswind. then the next hole the ball wouldn't move at all. just a weird feeling I had round one. Round two I didn't feel that way and was able to do just as good in higher wind. I don't know, just wasn't feeling it out correctly.

Welcome to the US OPEN setup at Pinehurst #2. It's a RCR and it's setup to be tough! Embrace the challenge. I did embrace it, just not very well. I think there's been a lot of these very long par 4's the last few weeks in Web, not just here at Pinehurst. I sucked this week, oh well. The long par 4's don't bother me too much. It's long par 3's that get me. Especially when the firmness and speed of the greens are up and the pin is not in an attacking position. I had a look ahead at the coming courses (as I'm sure many people do) last night and one in particular could cause people a lot of frustation if the winds are not only strong but headwinds. W36 TPC @ Boston, obviously an RCR, but I played through it and one hole on the front 9 (can't remember which) is 250 yards to the start of the fairway. It was playing in 6-7 mph headwinds and I just barely made it on with a few yards to spare. And that was the Thursday pins.

The one request I got constantly when I started was we need RCRs so I've put on one a month and since then the majority of complaints are from well RCRs haha. Make up your mind people

Personally love the RCR's....Some of these pins nestled up to the edge were fun as heck, and those crowned greens made for extra excitement.. Just like real Pinehurst....
That second round was a beast.. I was just playing for par and ended up -4 which is great for me on windy rounds..
One long par four like 500 yards I had 18mph in my face, I hit driver and 3 wood, still had 58 yards left to reach the green.... Then a couple holes later that really long par five I hit driver, 3 wood, and like 8 iron just to reach... It was a fun round....

Tight week for me, had to play all four together or none at all. Thought about stopping after first two rounds of -12, but went ahead and finished. Still haven't figured out the wind. Hopefully someday.

Felt happy with my first round score of -10.
2nd round started like the first, -3 after 5 but that was the end of any highs. 3 bogies from the remaining holes and I was hanging on for an even par. Savage winds in the 2nd round showed my areas of weakness as I rarely had a putt under 30 foot, with a few 50 footers.
My clubs are on eBay if I miss the cut lol

Well after a record equally 5th missed cut, pressure was on the week to pull something out of the bag. Round 1 started well with a birdie on the first, two pars followed but then a rare run of 4 consecutive birdies put me in a good place. I started the back 9 with 3 birdies including a chip in on the hardest hole on the course (11th). I lived life on the end after that. A birdie putt for 6 foot ended in a 8 foot putt for par which I managed. I was a relieved man to par the last from a poor position off the green and my score of -9 was a huge relief. Still work to do in the wind but I've finally put in a good competitive round, one solid round and this bad run wil be over. Good to be back amongst it even if it is just for the short term.

That was me complaining. I was just pissed i didn't score well. The course is great. I should stay off the forums when my blood pressure is elevated.

Go in your home ball!!!! Just finished round one, and left way to many strokes out there. I knew I would need to score well in round one, and left myself with many ressonable putts, only to see several lip outs and a few left sitting right on the edge of the hole. -5 round one will set up a battle in round two to make the cut

Just crushed round 3 for a 61. Tough wind and pin positions but was just landing my balls right where I was hoping to and getting some good rollouts.
