Thanks to the designer of this for making Sat & Sunday max firm with max speed, just screams intelligent golf course design. Just another entirely forgettable course to add to the ever growing list. And please, on your next design, cluster more par 5's together....the sameish feeling is something I particularly enjoy when shelling out green fees. I just love when a course rewards missing greens and chipping in, and with the tucked pins and massive fringe it's in spades here. #play4chip Oh and the invisible breaks are wonderful. Have to disagree with that. This course played well firm, there was plenty of room to land the ball on the green and run it at the pin. Maybe a couple of holes in round 4 you had to try and land it short but that was it. As for hidden breaks, no such thing. I don't trust the green beads on any course but that's a TGC thing not the fault of the designer. If you have a proper look around the putt you can see the breaks (or lack of) that the green beads aren't showing you. To each his own mate....not my cup of tea and I can take my ball & go home.

No one is going to like every course we play on tour, there has been some I liked and some I have not. I dd not make the cut this week but have played the fast and firm on Saxony more than once and it is more than playable. In my opinion its well designed. And different opinions are great, designers love different opinions, it helps them with future courses and it helps them see where maybe things could be changed. There is a hole forum for feedback that designers would love to hear from players. On the other hand, a aggressive, sarcastic post on the spoiler thread really helps no one at all. Scampi is known as one of the better course designers out there, his tutorial videos have helped lots of others in trying to make their first course and improving from there on and he deserves and lot more respect than a rant on a spoiler thread. Criticism of courses is a good thing, it helps all from designers which has a knock on affect on helping us players having new courses to play. If you are going to say something about a course, choose your words carefully, explain what you did not like( the earlier rant comes across as a petulant child having a tantrum) it does make a huge difference.

Just my view, don't intend to offend anyone. Rounds 1 & 2 were fine, thought the pins supported the speed and firmness, my issue is simply with the max firm max speed in general (not specifically this course, many designers seem to rely on this combo to protect par), really uncreative IMO (you know what they say about opinions) is all, there's much better ways to challenge players but everyone seems to enjoy the cement greens so be it, but when you line up 3 par 5's in a four hole stretch and each plays relatively similar (I know it's difficult to design a challenging par 5 in this game) it all just starts to feel sameish after so many rounds, especially coupled with TGC's wind issues and it seemed like many holes played in same/similar direction.
Again just my view and that's what's great about this game, something different for everyone to enjoy and I will certainly enjoy next week at Pinehurst.

Man, the weekend setup was TOUGH. Definitely preached taking advantage of all opportunities on getable holes as some pins on other holes are just plain inaccessible. To manage -6 on the weekend for me was as good as I could've hopped. Especially with 30+ putts each day.
