Here's the full story The member played the wrong event in-game. That event had handicap scoring on. His handicap was very high at the time - he actually shot around +9 for the round. With handicap it was 16-under. I've put him back into CC-E and he will replay the proper event. Again, this is why we can not always jump to conclusions and grab pitchforks. He was not a sandbagger just learning the ropes of TGCT. Please welcome him back into the community if he decides to join the forums. Thanks! Well what do you know? It was an honest mistake. Thanks for the report Scott. We will certainly welcome him to the forum should he join us. Now, where's my Web card for being an all around nice guy? LOL. Doyley will give you a lick arse card mate ;-) haha

I'm sorry if I made a mistake here and called somebody out in the wrong but this still seems fishy to me, what other event was there that he could have played in error was there one called Masters Qualifying event. Also is it possible to have a handicap so high to turn a +9 round into -16, I know the handicap is flawed in the game but when I first played and was utter garbage at the game I had a handicap of 1. So he must have played a play round like it clearly says not to do and then entered those scores in for the actual tournament he was supposed to play in with the massive handicap on it.

You would have no chance playing the official tournaments against lads with ridiculous handicaps and it ruined a great game. Then I found TGCTours and it made the game fun again and gave you a chance to compete on a level playing field with good players. I'm at Euro level now and my handicap is +3 or something stupid like that and sometimes you get a minor decline for shooting a -10 round so it must be broken.

It's meaningless. I go up and down like a yo-yo. Right now I'm getting like 3.3 strokes per round. At one point, when I wasn't nearly as good, I was giving 7 strokes per round. The handicap is very easy to rig. Go find courses marked hard that the big boys haven't gotten a hold of yet. Most likely, it's because only the novice players have been playing it. Smoke it and your handicap lowers like crazy. My handicap has gotten worse because I'm playing courses where guys are shooting 60, they're marked easy, but they're a b%& to play. So like I said, ignore the handicap. It's totally meaningless.

Sorry man you are missing my point when I first started playing the game I was terrible and shooting high 70's and 80's and I got a handicap of 1 and when I played in tournaments I was getting my ass handed to me by lads with high handicaps, you would lose 6-7 shots a round to lads with high handicaps and it was pointless playing. These guys saw a way of gaming the system and hacked around in their first five rounds in order to get a high handicap so they could tear up the competitions. I never even bother to play the main TGC competitions now and stick to TGCTours where I know the handicap means nothing and all but a few sandbaggers are weeded out. Again this guy may have made a mistake and you can't prove it but I do know that plenty on here have been DQ'd for entering in correct scores in the wrong order.

I was only explaining how the handicap works. Or maybe I didn't explain it well enough. It has nothing to do with what score you shoot. It has to do with what score you shoot AND what course you shoot it on. High 70s and 80s on easy or medium rated courses will not give you the same handicap as high 70s and 80s on the hard and hardest courses. The problem with that system is that very few courses worth playing are rated as hard anymore. Why? Because the good courses are torn apart by the elite of this game and they end up being rated as easiest. Did you know that Magnolia, which tore a hole in most people's rears this week, is considered one of the "easier" courses? That's right. I shoot 6 under and have to listen to John's "It is, however, one of the easier courses. Maybe you should try a more difficult one." I want to slug him. So here I am shooting 6 under at Magnolia and my handicap gets worse. It makes no sense. That's why it's pointless to even think about it. Yes, playing against your friends who did what they can to game the system is pointless. I agree. Playing TGC Tours puts everybody on the same level because there is no handicap. And just think. If we all played the so called hardest courses, there wouldn't be any left and nobody would be able to game the system anymore because everything would be easy. Just get Ian Sweeney to play them all. Instant handicap destroyer.

I get what you are saying with the handicap I don't play tournaments that use it anymore as it's flawed I played whatever courses were officially rated as hard when I started as I like a challenge and I was crap then and got a near level handicap so how could somebody get 30 or higher I'll never know unless they were hitting 12's on every hole. None of my friends game the system we all play by the rules just like real life but there loads of guys that did and play those online comps with the handicap on and ruin it for everyone else. Also -6 is good on Magnolia but there is a max firm version and that is a great score if you shot it on that version.

Agree 100% here and only for this site and all the hard work put into it I don't think I would still be playing TGC to be honest, it just added what was lacking from the game.

With regards to Daniel in C Class, he is one of us guys that recently joined from a football forum. He did indeed just put the hours in and get better, he has played a lot of Tiger Woods over the years and it just took him a little bit to get used to this game. He tried his hardest in the Q-School as did the rest of us from the football forum. A couple of the guys have come out of the E card, with I think 2 of the guys earning an exemption to the C Card this week, Daniel of course going to the B Card now. I am in the C Card myself, we also have a couple still in the E Card and I think a couple learning the trade in the Z Card. We also have a couple of new guys just going through the Q School at the moment. Nothing to see here, just someone that is excelling at the game.

I am also from the football (soccer) forum mentioned above and I demand something be done about Daniel, not because he's cheating but because frankly he's making me look bad.
I scored better at q-school and got an exemption from my first tournament in CC-E. But since then it's been the Daniel Noon show and well, I'm sorry but I'm the one who introduced him to this bloody game and I'm the one still languishing in CC-E while he hightails it to CC-B and beyond.
I demand a witch hunt because hounding him out is the only way I'm going to start feeling better about myself again.

Hello, I'm Daniel Noon, and I come in peace. Basically I got the game when I was recommended it by curt on said football forum. The best golf game i have played may I add.
I was eager to get started on the tour, so the first six rounds I played were Qschool. The next four the tournament straight after. So basically you were correct wagtunes when you guessed option number 2. If I could start again I would play a few practice rounds before trying Qschool, but c'est la vie.
I'll hopefully be out of your hair soon enough anyway wagtunes haha.

To start off as miserably as you did, if I may say, and then skyrocket to one of the best players out there (You had the lowest Magnolia score of all the CC tiers) is quite an accomplishment. I predict you're going to eventually make it to the PGA. When you do, will you still come down here and speak to us mortals? LOL. Seriously, congrats man. Keep it up and show us how it's done.

I'm glad I shoot better so I won't feel that bad Anyways I think if your game remains at this level you should be promoted straight to WEB cause your scores will be too high for CC
