It pisses me off that he's now straight into web. I'm trying my hardest to climb and get up there and this lad gets caught sandbagging and his punishment is the reward im trying to work for. I think Doyley has only two options in these cases, kick him completely or put him where he should have been placed. It is more of a second chance and I can see why he does it. Much like a few folks who sandbagged in Web got auto promoted to Euro where they should have been but didn't want to go. I guess they will now play where they should be at or quit the game because they can't dominate like they wanted to. Yeah I'll concede that Doyley is definitely in a tough spot, and this was probably his only course of action. Just pissed off about it but it's not fair to blame Doyley on this.

Wags if it was up to me I would have them named and shamed as I don't think sitting on the fence with splinters in my arse is the best way to nip this kind of thing in the bud. You prove this by the fact that nobody goes straight from the lower levels to the top with win after win in this game unless they are masking their true level. The lads on here do a great job on this site and its always down to a sad small minority that have to cheat the system and ruin things for everyone else. I think there should be zero tolerance really and flat out bans for anyone gaming the system, would you agree? For instance our friend leading CC-E with no API data, if he turns out to be proven cheating and not some crazy glitch then its a life ban end of story I agree. Proven cheaters (hard to do beyond any reasonable doubt) should be banned. Zero tolerance. One strike and you're out. But then there's this poor schmuck John Doe just gets TGC. He loves the game. He really sucks at it though. He registers for Q School and does horribly and is put in E Class. Feeling totally embarrassed and humiliated, he goes off and practices his ass off. I've been told by the top players that mastering this game at a certain level doesn't take more than month. So after 4 solid weeks of doing nothing but playing golf from 7 AM to 12 midnight (because he has no life) and watching every video, and reading all the golf charts, and because this game simply takes no physical skill other than pulling a joystick back and pushing it forward, he is suddenly able to shoot low 60s with no problem. He registers for his first event in E class and smokes the rest of the field who probably play this game in their spare time. See the problem? You had to see my play when I first started. And because I have a business to run, I can't play TGC all day. That's why it's taken me so long to get to where I am. But somebody who has nothing better to do can go from shooting 80s to 60s inside of no time. I don't want to be the one to call this poor guy a cheater because he worked his tail off for 4 weeks in order to get to the point where he will eventually end up in the PGA. Is that the norm? Are those players going to be common place? Of course not. But you can't discount the possibility. So unless you're 100% positive that somebody is cheating, you really need to be careful about making accusations. Look Wags I'm sure that your scenario could happen( anything could happen at this game) however unlikely but come off it, I was going on about lads pretending to be at CC-E level and playing week after week and going to the top with consecutive wins and you know it. I'm sure somebody that was embarrassed about getting put in CC-E and then subsequently smokes the field in their first outing could easily mail Doyley or whoever and say look I'm better than what I showed at QSchool and they would more than likely bump them up, but to go on week after week picking up wins is cheating so I'll stand by what I say. On the other side if someone ends up at the top after a long time of hard grafting then fair play to them for putting the hours in. As for the accusations thing there is no smoke without fire usually and I see our friend that was leading CC-E is on his way to Web now.

The facts are simple: +104 in Q school which is pretty bad to -26 thru two rounds at Magnolia in a very short turn around. That is fishy.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I probably shouldn't because I know what the human race is capable of. Anyway, it's out of our hands. the admins will decide how to handle Q School and everything else, just like this guy who was put into Web. Scott was put in a no win situation and I think he made the right call. Of course it doesn't matter what I think as it's his call to make.

Maybe because I'm new here, I understand the frustration, but I don't know why people see him getting put into Web as a "reward". Sure he tried to game the system and was caught, but now he's where he should have been to begin with. It isn't a reward for him to be in Web, its where he is supposed to be based on his skill. Personally I'd much rather be placed in the appropriate skill level rather then just getting into Web or higher and finishing last every week.

I'm all for giving people the benefit of the doubt but I also don't sit back and keep my mouth shut as I can't 100% prove somebody is cheating as that is really hard to do, but would we even be having this conversation if I hadn't brought up this guy as a reference to what the OP was originally talking about. I know you have been struggling at the game and have got better as have lots of others but certain things just stick out a mile and +104 at QSchool to -26 thru 2 at Magnolia is a dead cert cheater simple as. As you said It's Doyley and the admins call and they have moved him up now the Web lads will have to deal with this now, just hope he doesn't post a top 5 up there.

Well, if his scores are really legit and not some colossal joke, he'll do very well in Web and maybe even make it to the PGA. And that's fine, as long as he's where he belongs.

Yes no problem with this at all, was just hoping that he doesn't do it this week as he should really be facing a ban for his antics in CC-E and a top 5 in Web would rob the lads up there of an exemption.

It is a reward because everyone's drive with TGCT is to move up. It is very hard and grinding work to get to Web. This guy intentionally (probably) sandbagged Q school to get an exemption to the Masters. Now he gets put into Web with no effort to get there (yes, he probably does belong there).
Who knows, maybe he already is in Web

He has already been moved to Web. I guess that's my point, he tried to game the system and sandbag. His reward would be staying in a lower tier and winning all the time. Now that he is put in the appropriate level he will have a tougher time winning. I agree that the ultimate goal for everyone is to be better and make it to higher tiers, but in this situation it was discovered and he was moved to the appropriate place.

True he was moved where he should be...but he shouldn't be able to compete for a period of time. There has to be a certain amount of lashes with a wet noodle we can all agree on.

Scratch his account and tell him to re-register and play the Q-School again, that's enough punishment for any human being!! His name will be the same and the powers that be can check his performance. The scores he put in for The Masters Qualifying would suggest he has to be coming out of Q-School with a web card, at the very least a CC-A.
