Definitely my best performance to date on the web tour (so far!). Shot -11 on round 1 which could have been slightly better, missed two tap ins if I remember right. Round 2 I shot -13 which was pretty much mistake free on the greens. Holed a few big putts there. Then round 3 I had a flyer - got a hole in 1 and 2 eagles for a -14 to leaving me to start the final round at -38.
-11 -13 -14 To Play
Practiced round 4 earlier and boy is it tough! Needing to hit shots short of the green and roll on which requires a fair amount of luck. I think I'd be happy with -5/-6 from my first practice.
Good luck everyone and looking forward to seeing the standings before I tee off my final round.

I would be good to see you win just so I can hear your name being pronounced wrong again

It's funny because everyone I the UK knows about Gary and wouldn't have any issue at all with the pronunciation! A good last round and you will have a shout at it this week!

Solid but unspectacular start. Both rounds were very similar. Both started slowly but ended well. Again, no eagles and no bogeys. -8 followed by -9. It was strange because in practice it had been the other way around. I really thought I was going home as on the 2nd round I was -4 with 6 to play. Got 5 birdies to keep hanging in there. I hope that's enough to make my first cut in 3 weeks but we will see.

Fun course this week, that last round was a real test! Seems like we are getting the same design theme every week, looking forward to something new!

Good scoring everyone! Hard to have an off day with you guys/gals(?) and make the cut.
I'll pay someone to come putt for me next week. I can get you inside 10 feet most of the time. You just gotta make them.

I'm in at the halfway point with a 60 - 61... with my tendency to play well in the tough conditions (watch me eat those words by the end of the week), I think I might actually stand a chance at a top 10 this week.
Count me in the group also looking forward to a different themed course.

You just gotta make them. I feel your pain yaters. I missed so many short putts. I just can't read side slopes when it comes to putting, especially down hill. I made 30 putts on my first round and 28 on my second. My putts per hole on the first 2 rounds - 1.611 Yours - 1.694 Best putter (1 round only) - 1.278 That is a HUGE difference. That's 1 less putt every 3 holes!!!! There must be a secret to it!!!!

A good last round never materialised! Even par for round 4 after being +4 at one stage I believe. An eagle and two birdies on the last two holes rescued the round but ruined my chances of contending this week. Looking at the PS4 scoring I can hold hope for a top 20 finish still which is progress for me!

Gonna get my first strike this week as I have no time to play this tourney. Looks like another high scoring week.

That's 1 less putt every 3 holes!!!! There must be a secret to it!!!! Yeah, that's a big difference for sure. I've never been good at putting but I seem to be getting worse. I think it's hard to tell with the stats who is a good putter and who isn't. Obviously the top guys are good at most if not all aspects of the game. But maybe they have great putting stats because they knock everything close to the hole for tap-ins? Or maybe they are excellent at chipping and get everything very close if not in the hole? I don't know. I suspect the approach shots are the main separator with scoring though. Not only getting it close but landing it on the correct side of the green. I played the PGA event this week (just one round) and played with the leader as a ghost. I was surprised at times how he would go 15-20 feet away from the pin (didn't seem like a mistake - aimed far left or right) until I finally watched one of his 25 foot putts drop in replay. He intentionally went for an area that didn't have much break and was able to make the putt. I, on the other hand, fired it close to about 8 feet and had a 3 grid breaker that I threw-up all over. My problem is when I've tried to be smart about my landing area, I don't do well either. I either miss it or it rolls away to a worse area or I screw up the longer putt. Bottom line is I think I'm kinda at a plateau in my skills and ability to improve. My best bet is to hope I get a little lucky and just 'feel' it with putting that week. Watching the video tips available here just got me more confused as to what people are doing!

Watching the video tips available here just got me more confused as to what people are doing! I noticed the same thing while playing the HB knockout tourney last night. I was playing with the ghosts of some of guys at the top of the PGA/EURO, and I was surprised that generally I was getting just as close on approaches as them... but they weren't missing anything for putts. The other thing I notice while playing the top players in general is it seems they have a lot of hole-outs. I'm not sure if maybe this also plays into why they are sometimes a bit further away on approaches as they are being aggressive in trying to hit the hole (instead of just get it close like I would do), or maybe I'm just imagining it.
