The greens on this course definitely killed me they simply didn't break no matter the grid-lines I have a tendency to miss putts low but this week every putt I missed High or even short and I'm in the "Burst it at the back of the hole club.
Prime example I had a 12 foot 4 inch down hill, R-L putt that finished 2 cups right (were i started it) and 6 inches short.
To be honest the course as a whole I wasn't a fan and personally I don't think visually it was up to the standards of any course I've played on tgctours so far.
I should miss the cut this week with 66/64 -14 but honestly I wouldn't mind not having to play 2 more rounds on it.

Had one of my more up and down tourney's so far (-10,-10 (I think), and -14 so far through 3 rounds).
2nd hole, flip flopped between lofting a 3 iron and hitting a full club, decided to go with the full club but forgot to deloft it and painfully watched by ball barely make it half way to the hole. 2nd round, lipped out on an albatross, just missed a 2nd one, and just missed a hole in one as well... however putted so terribly didn't get much of a score. Then 3rd round, somehow it seemed every putt I ended up with an almost straight putt and was able to take advantage and actually score well.
Going to try to practice that 4th round a few times so I can hopefully generate a half-decent score to hopefully make top 25. Never have played a fast/firm course like that, so watching pitching wedges bounce 4 yards on the first bounce is going to take a bit to get used to. Anyone have any tips?!

Nice shooting for your first 3 rounds anyway that sets you up nicely. Round 4 is a tough one, probably the best advice is to accept that 30ft from the pin is actually a good shot here. Some of the par 3's are very difficult as the pins are tucked away and you have to hit enough club to carry the bunker so it makes it impossible to hold the green so you will probably face a few delicate chips down to the hole. I hit the perfect shot into one on the back 9 and landed it short of the fringe and it still hopped on through the green, you could probably play left of the hole but will leave an awful putt across the slope by the time your ball finishes rolling. Best of luck anyway 66 would be an excellent score on this setup, I was happy to escape with a 71 after a bogey on the 1st.

Finally a course that I've played outside of tour competition for pure enjoyment. I never thought I'd see the day on TGCT where that would happen, makes yet another fall (harvest or Autumn) course more palatable this time.
I dig the greens on this course (at least for pin 1 setup), they play pretty easy IMO, I was left with more uphill 8-10 footers compared to the last few weeks where all of my medium length putt seems to fight terrible dual breaks downhill. I'm playing my way through the practice tour (-9 round 1 & -11 round 2 so far). Interested to see where the cut falls this week after having narrowly missed my 1st cut last week with a -15.

Well I posted this morning about my terrible first 3 holes (+1), had some time today to focus and figured I'd get back at it with renewed focus on more delicate putting. Was able to birdie 5 of my first 6 on the day, then was a bit cold on the back for -8 in rd 1. Was one short of my goal but ok with me. Round 2 I was on fire for the front...-7 thru 7 with an eagle. Feeling good. Then 5 straight pars and I had to "limp" in with a -12 60. Glad to make the cut...so decided to keep going. Round 3 had the same thing happen in holes 8-12...just a dead zone. But then a birdie on 13 snapped me out of it...then, I believe it was hole 15, had a two-hop ace that got me to -9. Had been a few weeks since a long holeout so that felt good. Just had to birdie the two par 5's for a 61. Then the final round, I was prepared, I knew how the ball would bounce...it was just very hard to get it done. Missed a ridiculous 2 foot putt on the back to go to +1...thought I was dead...then sank a 45 footer, followed by a nice little run at the end for a 68. -35 overall, which is better than I thought I would do. Seems like most of us fell into that area so I don't mind. Looking forward to the event in a couple weeks a lot...(heh heh)...but next week at Bunyip should be a good test on some very different greens.

I would agree with posts above that mentioned the lack of break on some of the greens. I had 3 putts where the grid and my eye told me there would be break and each putt rolled by on the high side. Frustrating.

Thanks man, great shooting for you as well. The greens were odd for sure, and I'm not sure why. On one appproach, I believe it was hole 2, from the fairway the green shows a yellow mini-ridge in the middle. After getting on the green, the yellow was gone. Not sure if that's a perspective thing...but I don't think I'd seen that before. Also had back to back birdie misses that were almost comical. I would have saved the clips if I wasn't a little pissy and wanting to move on. First putt, 15 ft showed a barely moving break...ended up a foot left of the hole. Next putt, shows a significant break...and it just glides by straight. I am at least starting to feel...WRONG over those putts. It's just really hard to trust your gut with the game basically telling you YOU'RE wrong.

60 for me in round 1, including a 5 hole stretch (8 - 12) in which I was -7. Had a nice hole out on 9 and then almost aced 10... Not looking forward to pin 5.. but off to a good start

Pretty happy with that and hoping that might be able to squeak in for a top 10 but as there's already a couple low 40's out there on xbox by web guys so probably will come up a bit short. Toughening up the course for that final round was a great decision by the designer/TGCT team that picked it... really ups the dramatics since anything can happen. Although if the winds had picked up for that round it would have made it tough to get below par.

That is still a good total well done on your final round you will be right up there anyway, the best web score was danandsons as far as I know when I played on PS4. Agree about that setup for the final round being a great choice, I wasn't a fan of the course overall but really enjoyed grinding out that final round as a course that played easy showed its teeth, the winner this week is going to have to earn it with a good final round that's for sure.

Still a good score man, I haven't looked at the in game leaderboard but there are always a few PGA guys that play the other tours for practice. Nobody that posts in here has posted in the -40's yet but lowenberger did say he saw a few web guys on Xbox. It will be interesting to see if the majority of those scores were amassed over rounds 1-3 and if anybody can manage to shoot double digits under par on round 4.

I've had a practice on Round 1 and Round 4. I think I got -9 and +1 respectively. Those firm greens are a real test! I need some more practice in tonight and maybe the first round if I feel up for it.

I think the best round 4 score when I played last night was -6. Not sure if anyone will do too much better than that, there just are too many holes that birdie isn't even really in play.
