The week one Web winner had 93 putts for the tournament. I had 116...thus no chance to compete without improvement. 23 more putts is like an entire extra round. LOL

I honestly thought for a second about crunching stats on Strokes Gained Putting, because I really like the stat. But then I gave up and had a beer. Sorry guys.

Very impressive play this week everyone. I wish I could watch the replay of some of your rounds. I played my last two rounds even though I won't make the cut. Tried to change my strategy and score better - but same results. Something about this course just didn't work for me.
So I vote for a lot more courses like week 1 and no more of these!

Week 3 is a toughy btw, very thin fairways and a lot of risk/reward.

Week 3 is a toughy btw, very thin fairways and a lot of risk/reward. I played a practice round last night and was -11 I believe. That translates into about a -4 or -5 performance for me when it counts. Certainly a couple of holes that can make or break a round.

I'm gonna head out an practice soon, nothing much else to do this week with regards to TGCT!

I've whinged to my wife.
I've whinged to my mates.
Now I'll have my whinge here!
After hacking my first round last week and missing the cut I said this week ill make the cut! Played 4 rounds finished -22 but frustratingly my scores where 69/68/63/62. So going to get cut again! going into week 3 with No Dollar I'll have to solicitate my wife to raise money for the entry fee and hock my jewelry to fill up my golf bag.
Here's hoping I'll get to post 4 rounds next week.

LOL I had an amazing 119 total putts, including 33 in the final round (but only one bogey). My putting certainly needs to improve massively in order to ever compete for top 25's on the web. I wish HB offered more stats in game, or opened up an API so we could track any of these stats ourselves. The data is there, let people use it to help their games.

I wish HB offered more stats in game, or opened up an API so we could track any of these stats ourselves. The data is there, let people use it to help their games. I read somewhere on these forums (probably a month ago...and not sure where) a study someone did across the pro tours. They compared average scoring with putts for PGA and EURO and Web.com tours. Not real surprising the see the top scores were the ones that putt the best. What isn't apparent in those stats was the average distance of those putts or how difficult they were. While putting is hugely important, I think it is more important to place your approach shots accurately. That's something I find difficult from a consistency standpoint because this game seems to have some odd variations built in at times (or I just don't read/understand the clues) AND I just stink...so there's that. If I had relatively straight putts on every hole from 15 feet in I could be a lot better putter. A majority of my putting woes are because I am facing wide bending putts down hill or they are longer putts that I just don't read well. I played in the True Sim Tour this week (which is freaking hard by the way) and the ghost I played with hit every approach to within 5 feet on the front nine. He only missed one of those putts - but 10 putts on the front 9. I had 19 on the front 9 as a comparison. That's True Sim which has no putting grid, but still it is a huge difference.

I'm not looking forward to giving this tournament a shot in all honesty. I was good at scoring -11/-12s in the middle of last week the few times I played, but I ended up practicing the PGA course mostly thinking I'd be able to play there this week. If you haven't played that course, it's rock hard fairways with rock hard greens. Practiced this course a couple of times after figuring out that I had to wait until next week to use the exemption and just could not get anything close, and even 5' putts weren't going in (a lot of the times, I'd leave putts at the edge of the cup). The greens here are ridiculously slow compared to what I was practicing for earlier. We'll see what happens.

And I have to really concentrate on how hard to hit putts here because everything is slower than I'm used to.

Hats off for those taking this course to double digits in the wind. I have played 3 practice rounds on this course and now did my first two rounds in the tournament. All rounds I end up at -6, and in most different ways each round. I get so frustrated playing it cause I have so many puts each rounds sitting on the edge but not dropping. I'll keep trying and hope that when I don't shoot a 65 it will be for the better and not the worse. Still can't believe Wilks and Garrity scoring -13 in round one which to me is amazing - well done guys.

Lets see... Bogey, Bogey start is just the way I wanted to begin this tour. I might play 10 with my putter in the last 3 rounds?... made a double for the 3rd straight round on 10 trying to play it three different ways (twice in practice). Clawed it back to -5.. so all in all about what I expected to shoot if the bogeys had been pars. Looking to cash in this tour.. so might have some work to do to make the cut.
Did I mention how much I dislike this course? lol

The best round 2 scorecard ever (if only by the hilarious way it started). Special shoutouts to edges of cups and trees for the color variety. Almost had a chip-in on #7. Hiding my score on an edit: R1: 60 (-11) R2: 62 (-9, above) R3: 56 (-15) R4: 60 (-11) Total: 238 (-46) Should be close. Wouldn't be surprised to see Garrity beat this solidly though. Some of those missed 6' putts will probably come back to haunt me.

Solid scores Jordan Jared - you are certainly on a roll. Good thing is I don't think we will have to worry about you too much longer Edit - no idea where I got Jordan from....
