-9 -8 -8 -6 Total -31. Not great but pretty consistent and on a course which I didn't really enjoy to be honest, some strange tree placements as previously mentioned so I'll take it. ⛳️

Well got my first two rounds in. Bit of a mixed bag.
R1 - 62 (-9) R2 - 65 (-6)
Total -15
INCLUDING my first ever Hole In One in TGC. I was SO pumped.
I'm shocked that some of you guys are deep into the 30s, or in one case, the 40s. I'll be quite chuffed with myself if I make it to -30. Hopefully -15 is enough to make the cut.

Lovely hole-out! I've played the course close to 20 times and I've never had the ball come back as far as the level of the hole, certainly not into the hole! Perfect mix of wind, approach, and green angle for that hole-in to happen. Well done! As you can tell from the video, there wasn't a lot of precise calculating going on with that shot. The golf gods smiled upon me, it was just my job not to shank it. Very well done on your round of 57. That's just unreal. Excited to see how low you can go as the season goes on.

So far so good. 60 (-11) and 59 (-12) for a combined score of -23 in the first two rounds should do the trick till Friday I'm feeling good on this greens, but there's still space for improvement. I bogey-ed the 13th on the first round and missed 2 GIR and 2 FIR. Also an easy eagle on the 2nd round and maybe 1-2 doable birdies here and there

60 and 64 for -18 at the halfway point for me. Happy with that after missing the cut last week.

I have had an absolute stinker!!
-2 and -6 in my first two rounds. Needless to say, I won't be making the cut (again).
Lessons learnt.
1) Do not play TGC when hungover, no matter how much you want to play! 2) Have more than one practice round
I literally couldn't putt anything!! I was within 12 feet on almost every hole and everything went around the cup, or brushed past.

Mixed results so far for all of my rivals. I've not set foot on the course yet so I've no idea how I'm going to find it. I've got some scores to aim for to give me even more motivation. No predictiosn yet until I see how I'm suited to the course.

P.S. One thing I dislike about this course is the horrible placement of trees... I mean horrible. No course would ever place trees like this one does... especially one hole where the branch of the tree takes up 30% of the fairway where your ball lands. Got around to playing a few practice rounds and this course it's completely gross. The tree placement is such a obvious and cheap way to increase difficulty, and is not something I would ever enjoy playing. When you combine this with the really slow greens all of the fun factor is lost for me. There's multiple approach shots that you can be center fairway and completely blocked out & punished for a good tee shot. Who designed this garbage?

Its not that bad, just approach a little bit shorter. I enjoyed occasionally having to whip a ball around an obstacle rather than having a clear line of sight every time.

Its not that bad, just approach a little bit shorter. I enjoyed occasionally having to whip a ball around an obstacle rather than having a clear line of sight every time. That's fine, I will adapt, but I just dislike courses that punish you for being in the fairway on numerous holes, and always in the same fashion via a HUGE tree which blocks the pin/idea landing area, and the greens also primarily run away, so you can't feed the approach shot to the hole. It becomes even more frustrating because the overhead hole view doesn't always indicate that a tree is large enough to not be able to carry. You basically have to play enough practice rounds to be familiar with ideal tee shot placement &/or map out each hole so you know what to avoid. I do like the challenge in having to know a course in order to score well, so I guess this one has some value there.

Drinks are on me! My first hole in one in Tournament play. Helped me to a -38. Broke my rule of playing all 4 rounds at the same time and my 4th round ended up being worst with my 3 bogies of the tournament.. (That's why I have the rule...) Good luck everyone, now to try and make the cut with this no aids faff
Nice hole-in-one Driver! Followed your ghost all four rounds as its the score to beat on xbox and was chasing you the whole time. Thought I finally might be able to close the gap on the last round when you got a few bogies, then you knocked that ace in and I knew I couldn't come back. Seemed like you were really draining the putts
Personally ended up -36 (-7, -11, -11, -7). Very happy with that given I don't think I got above -8 in any practice rounds.

I wish the leaderboard stats could be expanded so we could better understand how some of these guys are doing it! I honestly didn't feel this course was much easier than last weeks course, but seems to be a big difference in scores.
Looking at the 1st round leaderboard so far, it definitely looks like putting is making a big difference for the guys who are going low... would be interested in its their approaches are leaving them shorter putts, or if they are just way better than me at knocking in those 10-20 footers.

Lowenberger - I am consistently near the top of driving accuracy & GIR so I know it's my chipping and putting. I would love more stats as well but for me the formula is easy...get better at putting!
