gsrpdf.lib.msu.edu/ticpdf.py?file=/2000s/2008/080721.pdfThe Rangers nor I didn't feel any of the pins were unfair to the point of where you couldn't stop a putt to within 3 feet of the hole. I'm sorry if you thought so guys as it is something I look out for in courses as I hate unfair pins myself. Cheers for the feedback and try to suggest courses on the suggestion thread if you feel you play one that's Web worthy. Cheers. Thank you for that link oswinner. Very interesting reading - do you or anyone else know if something similar exists for European Tour? I have tried searching for it without luck. I'm guessing they all use the same guidelines. European Tour tends to use slower green speeds (10 on stimp) than PGA Tour (12 on stimp) so can get away with more slope. We on TGCTours use even slower speeds (4.5 = slowest, 8.5 = fastest) so can get away with even more slope. The pin doesnt need to be cut on flat as a pancake land, just consistent slope up to about 3 feet if its green or 8 feet consistency if it's yellow colour.

Just finished my four rounds. The first round felt a lot easier than the three subsequent rounds, managed to hit a 62 with some very good approach shots. My next round get off to an awful start with two bogies on the first two holes (along with a bogey around the 13th too!), but some deep concentration and a couple of lucky bounces saw me come away with a 65.
The third round seemed a lot more trickier for some reason, managed some very solid pars and put together a run of a few birdies to leave me with a 64. Found the final round so frustrating, the winds kicked in at times and I was landing the ball a good five or six inches wide of where I expected. Managed a respectable 66 come the 18th.
Finished up my first Web Tournament with a solid -23 in total and 5th (so far) on the PS4 leaderboard. Happy with that as my practice rounds were quite poor, averaging around -4 throughout. Good luck to everyone else, its a tricky little course!

I'll be surprised if I sneak in. Very surprised. I'll certainly keep my eye on things through the course of the next couple of days.
I am a little disappointed with my score because I've been playing well of late. I just couldn't get close enough to make realistic birdie putts.
I love the trickier courses though, I really enjoyed it. What I didn't enjoy was seeing -13 under being posted by the leader. Ha! I'd buy that guy a beer but he will be busy actually playing round 3 and 4 while I sit on my butt twiddling my analogue thumbs!

Yeah, Well done Martin Law. I though it was a really hard course too. Setting my sights on making the cut, probably going to need -10 or above for the 2 rounds. I've not done that in practice yet Thanks, I had one of those rounds, Everything went in. Rounds 2 and 3 were pretty mediocre.. Yet to play round 4. Dang, I was hoping to see -52 on this course. Guessing that won't happen now. Great first round though! Judging by your comment, your round 4 might decide between you and me. Good luck!

Great shooting Martin played with your ghost for the first 3 rounds I ended up finishing -3162,62,60,65 last round let me down. I was trying to force it knowing there was a -35 shot and it didn't help me one bit, I really have to stop looking at the forums until after I play. Well done to Jared who shot -35 that's a great score and will be very hard to beat :-)

A pair of 67's to start off with in my first tournament, hoping i'm gonna make the cut, but probably gonna fall short by the looks of it. Love the course, it's a good test. Especially that back 9 and the final 2 holes, puts pressure on you to sink birdies in early to try and keep momentum going into the back 9. Hopefully there are a couple of links courses in the schedule?

So, Dave Wilks, back on the Web.com tour after a few months honing his swing on the Champions Tour, started off with a solid 62 in his 1st round. He then proceeded to throw it all away on the 11th hole of R2, where standing at 6 under, he dumped his tee shot into a bunker, duffer his sand shot, put his 3rd into the greenside bunker, & walked off cursing, after throwing his SW into the lake. He carried on, but the momentum was lost, & he ended with a poor 68.
Sweating on the cut, he proceeded to play his last 2 rounds, carding another 62, & a 65, for a 4 round total of -23.
I've just seen him, coming out of American Golf with a brand new SW, ready for next weeks tournament.

I got mega lucky Rd with an ace, and an eagle but struggled the other 3, so maybe my cut will be safe with my lucky Rd 1, some good scoring out there though

That's great. I still haven't gotten an ace, in tournament rounds, season mode, practice...nothing. I've got about 350 hours in the game and about 7 legit aces. They'll come with time and they'll come in bunches. I used to play a lot of golf in real life. Ran with about a 4-5 handicap and my playing buddies were scratch golfers. I witnessed 10 holes in one over the course of 7 years with those guys. They kept telling me the same thing. "Your's will come", "You have a nice draw with your irons...just need the right hole setup", "It took me 15 years to get my first one. Now it's like one a year." Then came the day in 2007 when I played a round with my brand new brother in law. He was athletic and said he played golf, but it was evident after a few holes he didn't have a clue out there. Wiffs off the tee. Worm-burners that almost took out wildlife or the cart girl. I don't remember him actually putting out anywhere on the front nine. Around the 11th hole he ran out of balls and decides to just concentrate on the beer. On 15 he finds a range ball lying on the side of the path, stumbles up to the tee box, and announces he's playing this hole. 154 yard par 3, two traps front side and one back. Big right to left slope on the green. Pretty hole - trees framed the entire green. This mother scratcher takes out a 3 iron (154 yards from the tee!) and laces a ball that didn't get over 5 yards off the ground, slams into the bunker lip, and bounces a good 20 feet into the air 40 yards right of the hole. You can tell where this going I'm sure. Some kind of unholy union of variables caused this thing to have enough spin to hit the green, take off at a 90 degree angle, catch the slope, and slam into the stick...dropping it into the hole. He goes wild. My buddies go wild. We have to take 20 pictures now with him grinning and pointing. For the most part I was happy for him. But that stings man...it stings the soul. Worst part is my wife bought him one of those plaques with the scorecard and some pictures and the ball. Cold blooded. Now in the virtual golf world I feel the same thing started to brew. This ain't no Tiger Woods where I can expect it to happen just because the game seems to think it's my time. I will read posts on the forums of those that got one to drop and smile and give them my thumbs up, growing more convinced I will never have a story to tell. Bridesmaid and never a bride.

What a devastating story. I knew where it was going as soon as you mentioned the bro in law didn't have a clue out there. Brutal. A similar thing almost happened during a men's night I occasionally attend. A few guys out there prefer drinking and shooting the sh%$ as opposed to focusing on golf. This guy is one of them. Par 3 drops off about 50 feet. Guy hits a low ugly 9 iron. Lands about 2 feet in front of the pin, bounces 4 feet past, spins back to about half an inch. Never seen the guy spin a ball before that, haven't seen it after either.
