I've got about 350 hours in the game and about 7 legit aces. They'll come with time and they'll come in bunches. I used to play a lot of golf in real life. Ran with about a 4-5 handicap and my playing buddies were scratch golfers. I witnessed 10 holes in one over the course of 7 years with those guys. They kept telling me the same thing. "Your's will come", "You have a nice draw with your irons...just need the right hole setup", "It took me 15 years to get my first one. Now it's like one a year." Then came the day in 2007 when I played a round with my brand new brother in law. He was athletic and said he played golf, but it was evident after a few holes he didn't have a clue out there. Wiffs off the tee. Worm-burners that almost took out wildlife or the cart girl. I don't remember him actually putting out anywhere on the front nine. Around the 11th hole he ran out of balls and decides to just concentrate on the beer. On 15 he finds a range ball lying on the side of the path, stumbles up to the tee box, and announces he's playing this hole. 154 yard par 3, two traps front side and one back. Big right to left slope on the green. Pretty hole - trees framed the entire green. This mother scratcher takes out a 3 iron (154 yards from the tee!) and laces a ball that didn't get over 5 yards off the ground, slams into the bunker lip, and bounces a good 20 feet into the air 40 yards right of the hole. You can tell where this going I'm sure. Some kind of unholy union of variables caused this thing to have enough spin to hit the green, take off at a 90 degree angle, catch the slope, and slam into the stick...dropping it into the hole. He goes wild. My buddies go wild. We have to take 20 pictures now with him grinning and pointing. For the most part I was happy for him. But that stings man...it stings the soul. Worst part is my wife bought him one of those plaques with the scorecard and some pictures and the ball. Cold blooded. Now in the virtual golf world I feel the same thing started to brew. This ain't no Tiger Woods where I can expect it to happen just because the game seems to think it's my time. I will read posts on the forums of those that got one to drop and smile and give them my thumbs up, growing more convinced I will never have a story to tell. Bridesmaid and never a bride. I've had a hole in one. Most euphoric feeling ever. On a local course...12th hole..Par 3...172yds..over a trap...hidden green...into the wind. Stepped up to play a knock down 6 iron. Had an OK round going at the time..I believe I was sitting at around 2 over at the time. Hit the shot and it looked good right off the club...I knew it was close. Got up to the green and you could see where my ball hit about 20 feet in front of the hole. I figured since it was a knock down I had burned off the back of the green. I pull out my wedge and start sifting through the long grass, none of my 4-some said a word. I was just about to reach into my pocket and play a drop when my buddy says..."hey Jimmy...you may wanna check the hole". Awesome feeling. That was well over 10 years ago and it still feels like it was yesterday. I've come close numerous times since, but nothing will top the feeling of that day. Also the 1st hole in one on that course ever recorded at the time as it had just opened the year prior. Best part about the round?...at the time the club house didn't have a liquor license...so I didn't have to buy a round..LMAO

A pair of 67's to start off with in my first tournament, hoping i'm gonna make the cut, but probably gonna fall short by the looks of it. Love the course, it's a good test. Especially that back 9 and the final 2 holes, puts pressure on you to sink birdies in early to try and keep momentum going into the back 9. Hopefully there are a couple of links courses in the schedule? I'm still the number 1 Newcastle fan on TGCT then Still a good first tournament for you and you may still make the cut and then beat me on this one! Best of luck. I actually did better on the final few holes, -3 for front 9 and -9 for the back 9

My bro won the English Amateur at 16, but he is still yet to slam dunk an ace. As for me, well I've only just taken the game back up and am playing off 20 - not had your bro-in-laws luck yet! I'll just have to settle for that "feeling" you get from doing so on TGC for now.

I'll be surprised if I sneak in. Very surprised. I'll certainly keep my eye on things through the course of the next couple of days. I am a little disappointed with my score because I've been playing well of late. I just couldn't get close enough to make realistic birdie putts. I love the trickier courses though, I really enjoyed it. What I didn't enjoy was seeing -13 under being posted by the leader. Ha! I'd buy that guy a beer but he will be busy actually playing round 3 and 4 while I sit on my butt twiddling my analogue thumbs! Still note there are a lot of players still to tee off (are these inactives or just late to submit scores?) but as things stand it looks like your making cut Chris :->

I think there will be a lot of inactives as everyone was auto registered, I think most people will have submitted their rounds now. It might be close but I think you might be right Kenny.

Not sure if it was different on CC but last season lots of web players left it to before deadline to post their first two rounds. Id be surprised if the cut isn't around the -8 mark.
I mucked up my first tournament of the new season with a 2 round score of just -4. Loved the course but never got any momentum going. One of those days.

I've never rage quit in a tournament until now! Haha first Web tourney and the pressure got to me! 1st round was okay -6, 2nd was a struggle at -4 and right now in the 3rd I'm all over the place sitting at +2 with 4 or 5 holes remaining. Really hoping to at least make the cut. Very tough course for myself. Greens are a mystery! Oh well better step it up for next week.

I'm not sure if I speak for others as well, but I'm convinced my Web.com status only showed up yesterday, and I played in the CC tournament last night, without realising that I had been promoted. So, perhaps there are still a few stragglers like myself, still to tee off. I will be giving it my best shot tonight. From what I have read the greens are solid, all about positioning tonight then.

Really hoping to at least make the cut. Very tough course for myself. Greens are a mystery! Oh well better step it up for next week. You'll get it back together soon Jordan. You came up into the CC-A and was top of the leader board every week (and I think won an event right?). This is a tough course with tough greens. I'd rather have lots of break than subtle to try and read. When I missed badly I had 30 foot putts with a lot of break the first half and subtle the next. Those for me are so hard to read. Personally I played this course a lot different where I wasn't aggressive and didn't try to score. I was nervous about being on this tour and looking like an idiot. In fact, I kept thinking "Someone is going to play with my ghost so don't be foolish here." So I just tried not to make mistakes and it actually gave me some more opportunities for birdies than I expected. I don't think that's a style that will be consistent on this tour though. It might have just worked out for this course. I had you pegged as someone we might see move up to the PGA/EURO tours at some point this season.

-9 thru two rounds for my first time on the Web. Hope that's good enough to make the cut. Going to wait a bit to see. While the course is beautiful, it's a more stressful round than a relaxing round.
