From the OP:
Race to Dubai •To play you must have a European Tour card or have won a European Tour event, Major or WGC event in Season 1
Does this mean that hacks like me who has played nearly every Euro tournie gets to play??
I suspect not I'm currently 188 on mney list
The Euro money list will contain tons of inactive players and plenty of PGA guys who won't be playing, so you may well get to play

when can we expect the invites? It seems I have about 33 hours left to accept my invite for The Turkish Airlines Open.

(16th of august) Auto register is a possibility but how do you know who's available and dedicated to play?

Well, they have identified the active and inactive players (see the money list) If you were, let's say Jules Powell, where would you play next week? He's eligible for The Barclays and Turkish Airlines, but can't play both. If he chooses The Barclays than #79 should be invited. And there are more people that have a choice. Surely you'd want a full field in the first playoff tournament either side of the pond.

The overlap of schedules makes it tricky - I'm going to change the cutoffs in the OP to be a week later (ie current) because I just don't feel good about excluding a regular season event for the first week of the playoffs. Just means that some will have to wait until Sunday to see if they are playing or not.
The standard cutoff for normal invite events (Majors/WGC) will still be 2 weeks in advance to give time to accept/deny invitations - it just isn't going to work as well for the playoffs.
I'm going to register everyone in the playoffs for the tour card they own - if anyone wants to crossover (and is eligible to do so) they will have to email commish@tgctours.com to request a change.
At this point, I'm going with the KISS (keep it simple...) method of getting through our first playoffs but taking notes on what we can do to improve for season 2. Appreciate the comments and keeping me on my toes - it's a lot of work keeping this all straight and I can't do it without you guys double checking everything - so thanks!

...but taking notes on what we can do to improve for season 2. Easiest way would probably be to just take a week off before the Tour Finals start? I personally don't like it not having a tournament each week, but with all the time required to get the people on the right tourneys, I think we all would accept that (in honour for all the great work/time you put into this site).
