-1 -1 for first two rounds. Stupid hook on easy par three into water in first round cost me a double, otherwise played okay and was unlucky with lots of good putts just not dropping...loved the challenge of this week. Not sure if -2 makes the weekend. You and me both. I took a 6 on that hole as 2 straight fast swings in the lake and then stuck it to within 5 feet for the triple. Finished with -1 to start

Wow, sitting in the top 10 after half of the field teed off is really nice to see - as a qualifier.
I really played well in the first round. Made no stupid mistakes and actually missed two makeable putts.
But-6 was a good score for me.
Unfortunately I had tempo problems (PC) in the second round and was a little bit too aggressive. I was +4 after 15 holes. Made two birdies to get it back to +2 at the end.
So - 4 after two rounds. Probably at least two shots shy of the cut line.
Nevertheless it was a great experience to qualify and to tee it up with the "big guns".
Going "home" to the European Tour now. Have fun with the next PGA threads 😀
Fairways and greens, guys!!!

I reckon -4 makes cut...but we’ll see. Wouldn’t be booking your flight just yet though!!

Solid opening round of -8, never really in danger of making a bogey except after putting it off the green on 6 and having to chip it in from 18yds to save par.
Also the current top three positions are all named Chris, so...there’s that.

Well after a week away from the game visiting the madness that is Istanbul, I arrived at this course full of trepidation for Rd1.
kept the ball in play mainly (I found 2w or 2h of the tee better for giving better lines to pins) for a -8 and T3 so far which I am delighted at. Putted really solidly and didn’t find any horror places.
gonna have a little lie-down and contemplate when to start Rd2.
good luck all - play well.
DP.

First off, fantastic course! Super tough, but exactly what you want from a US Open course. No gimme Par 4's, just a couple of Par 5's which require 2 great shots if you're going to reach, and greens which require a lot of thought of where your approach is going to go. Definitely requires a shift in mindset, as on some of the holes going for the pin is the worst choice as there's no chance of holding for it. Kudos to the designer. 👍
First round, I just couldn't hit it straight and kept hitting fast downswings. On this course, you're screwed doing that, so managed to get home with a 71, which with a 44% GIR and 64% FIR, I was just happy I hadn't completely ruined my chances of making the cut.
Second round, a lot smarter with my approaches, but still found myself at -1 overall for the tournament after 30 holes, but somehow found 5 birdies in the last 6 for a 63 and -6 overall.
Given how tough this course is, I fancy that's around where the cut is gonna be, so I'll be mighty pleased if I make it through, because I just want to enjoy playing rounds 3 and 4 officially as it's such a challenge.
Good luck all!

I've played 6 times and my best GIR has been 68% and that number needs to go up. There are probably only 8-10 pins you can fire directly at with a chance at a 15 foot putt or less. Some holes you really have to place it on the green, below the hole and take your par and move on. I'm really trying to identify those holes, like #4, 13, 14. Heck on the Par 5s, best if you can over shoot the greens with a pitch back up hill than to try and stop a pitch shot that is running away from you.

Started off round 1 with a great -9 Had one bogey, but played smart and was happy with pars. Made a couple really nice putts that helped going low. Gonna practice round 2 pins which are REALLY tough. Anything under par in round 2 is a great score. Hope I can keep up the good play. Good luck all.

Halfway home at -14. Very disappointing as my practice rounds were quite good.
Have made nothing so far. 2 awful 3 putts in rd 2 from 30 feet. But 4 chip ins. Lost fast downswing roulette in rd 1...but rd 2 tempo was solid.
Course is fantastic. Nice to actually have to hit great shots to make birdie for once.
Wish every tournament was like this!

Another disappointing rd 3 of -7...will put off round 4 for a bit. Lost my short game on back 9 of rd 3...missed a 7 footer uphiller on 10...fast flop on 14 for bogey and 3 putted for bogey on 16 from 8 feet. Smh.
Also somehow had another par on thevpar 5 5th. So bad.
Once again great challenge and awesome to not be able to shoot -12 for any round.
Good luck to all still to play!

I thought this game was for fun. Horrible field, with even worse greens. In almost 3 years of TGCTours, I have never had such displeasure in playing a tournament.
