-46 for me, I played some good stuff at times, made an ace in round 3; but overall it wasn't one of my better tournaments. I really like the course but found the greens to be a little frustrating: there were a few mystery breaks had me scratching my head. Good luck anybody still to finish. Ive been playing your ghost in societies and I must say it’s a pleasure. I see you struggling here and there and yet pull some stuff out to save yourself. A true champion in my book! Good luck. #respect Thanks John, it means a lot. I struggle at times to play consistent golf and shoot four very low rounds with my modified swing technique: my old swing style would give me that consistency and confidence. Most of the time I would get short swing lines with that quick, light, flicky motion that I used to use; but I had to change it pre-season to more of a deliberate push as it was setting off alarm bells in the warm up events. I've just never got totally comfortable with my swing since I changed and I'm always fiddling around with seating and hand positions to get that consistent feeling back. Before, I could take on pretty much any risky shot as I was confident of hitting it straight, now I have to be a little more careful with shot selection as I could miss on either side. I still get shots that register less than full now, but they are far rarer than before I had to make the change. When I do get them, it's amazing how straight they seem to go, even when the lines are wonky! Some weeks it feels great, I feel confident and I can compete for wins; but others I'm just fighting it and it feels awkward. Here is a slightly less than 100% swing that I made this week, it ends up going unerringly straight at the target

☝️That right there tells me everything I needed to know about short swings. The legend "gets it", why doesn't everyone else?
Lol, made this post before watching the video. When will I learn about the winky guy!

You’re quite obviously somewhat luckier than me though 😂

I'm quickly realizing I gotta change my mindset here in the PGA. In the Euro tour, I'd work hard to get where I'm going to make the cut and then evaluate if I could make it to the top 10 for the promotion mark. So Round 1 and 2 I was shooting with a lot of concentration. If I made the cut and could make a run for the top 10, Round 3 and four would be of equal concentration. In the PGA, the same concentration is there for round 1 and 2 but after barely making the cut and even after having a stellar third round, I was still -17 away from a top ten so I found myself pretty much speed golfing round after paring 2 of the first 3 holes. I probably should be playing for Fed Ex points but it seems that as long as I make the cut I'm just free wheeling. So far I haven't had a situation where I comfortably make the cut and have a chance at anything near the top ten, so who knows how that mindset will be then.
Played Ave of the Giants. Very interesting course. Very narrow driving ranges, very claustrophobic and very pretty. I feel that it should play where people will destroy it in low winds so I played it at VH winds and barely broke par because the landing areas are just as small. A lot of nuanced double and triple breakers from outside 15 feet which sent many putts just lipping by. This course definitely doesn't play to my strengths (ie super accurate shots) so it will probably be a struggle. I didn't hate it by any means but there was always that frustration that I should be playing much better than I was.

You’re quite obviously somewhat luckier than me though 😂 It’s unfortunate to have to change your swing, I realize how difficult and counter productive that would be. Ironically, I spent a week learning how to flick or short swing and played some society events with it. The results were amazing but in the end I abandoned for two reasons. One is the full line give a more authentic golf experience and two is I still believe HB will correct this in the next version. So I just keep slogging along and maintain my PGA card.

Finished up at -44. Pretty solid. Left a few too many strokes out on the course in the final round. Didn't have a good swing going and salvaged a -8 round. 17th place isn't too bad though. Great shooting by all. Hopefully rounding into form for the US Open. Trying to have a great showing there as well. Congrats to Christophe. Unreal tourney!
