Finished with a -4 and +2, couldn't make any putts in R3 then started getting slow tempo and out the bar swings in R4. Ah well, -7 overall. Might be in the 50's, but at least its my 1st cheque of the season.
Good luck those still to finish, there's a big score lurking if you stop concentrating.

Finally got around to playing these rounds today. Wow what crazy winds round 1 had.. I played as safe as I possibly could and held the damage to just 1 bogey through 2 rounds, to go along with 8 birdies (67-66) to sit at -7 through 36. I hope maybe i can make some more in the final two rounds but i am just shooting for top 25 at this point.

First tournament after Q School. Opened up with probably my worst round in 3 years of TGC with a +4. Was very disillusioned with my game and gave it a rest for a few days. Hit back in round 2 with a -9 to safely make the cut. Backed that up in round 3 with a solid -4 to sit -9 with a round to play. Aiming for a top 25 but whatever happens very proud of the fight back after my first round disaster!

I figured I'd see what all the hub-bub was about and got around in a tidy 83. Unfortunate some strong headwinds on longer holes - but outside of that I had no issues. I also reached one of the unreachable with a pair of F/F swings (w/ 2w) so I had that small win. Not sure what people are looking for in a high end competitive environment - we've been all over the board so far in terms of difficulty - there's been something for everyone. That said, poor scoring/frustration does bring out the posting more often than not but I'm not going to mandate calm winds/easy courses for the top tour. Can't please everyone 100% of the time - so if a course causes you grief feel free to take a pass and come back next week. For me tough courses aren't a problem, it's just the highest possible winds in every tournament that's unbearable. I already have to deal with extremely incosistent shot feedback on 2-5 shots per round. If I have that on a drive and it's on very high wind and my shot goes OB I'm going to be unnecessarily frustrated when playing safe with an iron would've ended with the same result. I can't just take a pass and come back next week if each week has a round or 2 with very heavy winds.

The good news is that I got my demotion strike removed. The bad news is that I've got that round 4 (back nine in particular) on the record. Silver linings either side of the cut line.
I probably should have just waited til at least Wednesday night to see how scores were coming in. Before I played, I figured there were enough people that might play plus people that still hadn't played the second round that -3 wouldn't make it with those more benign conditions. Oops. At no time during or soon after having a double on two of the first four holes of round 3 did I stop to consider that I should step away for a bit because the round might count.

I can't just take a pass and come back next week if each week has a round or 2 with very heavy winds. It’s the same for everyone though, surely, or is this and Xbox thing? We can’t just dumb down the conditions because things might go wrong. I bodged 18 in R3 and R4 this week, and both times the heavy wind was a factor in me playing a less than perfect shot, but that was on me. My fault. But the wind definitely influenced the way I hit the ball (mental problem translated to finger trouble). Are you saying your bad shots are out of your control? Edit - flat out winds all the time are tiresome. Agreed. Said it before, but I think default for 2 or 3 rounds is a good option with scheduler influence in 1 or 2 rounds. Edit 2 - Just seen you're on PS4 gcoop28 ... everyone know's you can't hit bad shots on PS4... Come on!

Played this one for fun as I think the course is a great design and a very stern, but fair test.
Ended up at -31, with rounds of 61,60,62 and 66. My putting was superb in round one, then got worse by the round; culminating in a woeful 22% one putt stat in round four
I've read a few posts of people saying that some holes were out of reach, this isn't true at all. I never once failed to reach any of the par 4's, or had the chance to get there with correct club selection and fast back swings.
I think that this course would have been a much better fit for the top 50 to play, having to plot your way to the hole and use the shot shaper is so much more fun than playing straightforward tee to green golf, then having all of the difficulty in punishing green setups.
The 18th hole is about as close as you can get to genuine fear in this game EDIT - Forgot to add that I used a different DS4 than my usual one as I'm getting way too many vf's with my old one and the one that I've been using for the last couple of tournaments is just awful to use, but legal. I get plenty of short line results with this one, so I've no idea if it would pass the api or not? Anyway, here's a link to my round one play...

The plot of land is available to rent for the WGC Matchplay, I'm sure I can come up with 2 more pin locations on each hole Looks like some who were up the top faltered in R4 on the PS4, could be whoevers leading now has the advantage of scoreboard watching and not chasing birdies. Shhhhh, dont tell anyone Brad but I have been inspired by the appreciation of those that like the tougher conditions and am working on Mascoma Lake Tour I dont think very high winds will work though, will have to try it....How many dog leg fairways would you like?

I'm not saying to eliminate wind entirely. I'm saying 20+ mph winds shouldn't be here in even half of the tournaments. Even 15 mph winds are difficult but manageable.
I'm saying 2-5 (closer to 1-2 since the updates) of my shots per round are out of my control. When it feels like my pace is the same but the meter on the downswing is all the way to the edge on "very fast" or "very slow" something is clearly happening outside of my control. That's what happened to me in the CIMB classic. 25-30 mph right to left wind off the tee and the meter was all the way at the edge of "very fast" on the tee shot so I went OB. Then I over compensated because I was worried the same bs would happen again and was 40 yards right of the fairway, hitting from 200 yards in the rough for a par. Broke my controller and collapsed the rest of the round lol. If the wind was even 15 mph I wouldn't have gone OB.

You play with a DS4 I assume. Wired, or wireless ?

If it's a new DS4, with the blue bar on the touch pad, you can play with it wired mate. If it isn't, send it back and get one of those. Plug it in and go to settings, devices, controller and select control method as USB. Input is king regards TGCT, and the wired input is the lowest lag and interference free method to swing input. Bluetooth can be confused / interfered with by other equipment in your home (everybody has different equipment in their setups, so wireless may work perfectly for some...). USB input isn't a magic wand, but I would not play any other way, given the choice.

I completely sucked this week then I realized my wife unplugged the USB cord on the PS4. When you turn on the PS4 unplugged it gives no warning that you are on Bluetooth. Makes a big difference to me.
