-1 -8 -9 at the cut which should be enough after the wind in round 1. Bogied the first hole of the tournament but played really well to get to -3 after making some great up and downs. Hit my approach on 18 into the water and got a double on the last hole to finish -1 after playing really well. Played consistently well in round 2 and was -9 after 15 but bogied 16 and 18 to finish -8. The 18th has to be one of the hardest finishing holes of any course. Every shot is scary! Good luck to everyone and thanks to Chris for designing, loved the challenge. Thanks for enjoying it Adam, kind of reminds me of a documentary I saw about Jack Nicklaus saying he could count out half the field at The Open because they were the ones moaning before the event even started about the conditions. Seems as though people will love or hate it this week. Already had Canuck say in his stream it's the worst course he's ever played in 5 seasons of TGC Tours. High praise indeed. A bit of a pet hate of mine is people saying the course is crap or not tour worthy because they played badly on it. I’m not a designer in the slightest but had a crack at a course and got through two holes and was mentally exhausted. To create a tour worthy course is a huge task and just because the course doesn’t suit or you play poorly doesn’t mean it’s a bad course. I tip my hat to all designers that manage to get a course chosen on tour. Anyway sorry for being nice and not complaining, can all revert back to the standard conversation now 😃

Feel like the Canadian in me should chime in here. First off, I want to apologize to Chris as I ripped the course pretty hard on my stream yesterday. Much of it was due to frustration and not warranted and the more I think of it, it was less to do with the actual course and more to do with the Round 1 setup. Just to clarify, I have always been in the camp of preferring tougher courses. I almost always (well, not this week) finish better on tougher courses with tougher conditions. I enjoy difficult winds, but it just seemed like every single hole in R1 the wind was not at your advantage. 480-510 yard par 4s with a 21 mph headwind is no fun, especially when its impossible to reach in two. This happened at least twice in Round 1. Round 2 was miles better, I just didn't hit the ball well at all, adding to the frustration. It was just a real grind that I found un-enjoyable. Maybe put a super tough round like this as R2,3 or 4? Also, why the heck was this course a minor tourney stop? This was big tournament/major quality of difficulty. I think that threw me off as well. I usually don't mind the grind some weeks, even when I play poorly, but those round 1 conditions just sucked the fun out of the entire tournament for me. So again, my apologies Chris, emotions just got the better of me, it just wasn't a good week for me on tour. This is a bit out of character for me and I have no clue as to what you said on your stream, but it was probably warranted. Apologies to designer and scheduler, but I thought this was a silly course. I like the fact that the scores are lower and had it not been for that 9 or whatever I got on 18 I'd had for the field a decent score. 500+ yard par 4s with pin stripe fairways doesn't make a course difficult. It just keeps the scores down by screwing the course par. Ah well. We all play the same shite in the end. Carry on. See y'all next week. Oh and by the way. Someone save some footage of the weather conditions on the PGA tour because I think it can come in handy when trying to convince any climate change deniers.

I'm sure there are people who have said the same about your courses.
Welcome to the PGA, prepare for playing to miss demotion strikes instead of trying to make cuts.
Oh, you might make the cut after that 2nd round. Rounds 3 and 4 should be a bit easier

Looks like there's another WGC event next week, yay for those on the PGA Inferior Tour. At least we have a shot at making a cut 2 weeks in a row.
Tournament of champions at the end of the year going to have 2 or 3 players in it or do they get last seasons winners too?

I figured I'd see what all the hub-bub was about and got around in a tidy 83. Unfortunate some strong headwinds on longer holes - but outside of that I had no issues. I also reached one of the unreachable with a pair of F/F swings (w/ 2w) so I had that small win.
Not sure what people are looking for in a high end competitive environment - we've been all over the board so far in terms of difficulty - there's been something for everyone. That said, poor scoring/frustration does bring out the posting more often than not but I'm not going to mandate calm winds/easy courses for the top tour. Can't please everyone 100% of the time - so if a course causes you grief feel free to take a pass and come back next week.

I was under the impression I’d get an email if I was invited to the “other” PGA event. So I played the first two rounds of this and shot -4 and -10. -14 at the half way point. All proud of myself thinking I was going to finish this one in good shape. Looked at the leaderboard and didn’t see my scores. Then realized my name was on the list of registered members on the other event. FIGURES!!!
I know some of you like these challenges. Me, I’d rather have an 8200 ft long round than rounds with constant 20mph winds especially when there are so many ways to get in trouble.
Good luck to all of you. Guess I need to go practice Ladue. .

Ball usually vanishes under the retaining wall. Guess you were lucky that it didn't roll in and make you tee off again. Probably caused by using the ghost of one of those top 50 elite players who shot -15 in R1 at the CJ Cup....only 8 shots off what they shot in 4 rounds for this tournament

Maybe they’ll fix it. I told him to chip it from there.

R1 +1, was 2 under after 9 holes then got the slice swing. Struggled after that and couldnt even birdie the easy 13th. R2 -6, hit every fairway and green up until the par 3 15th where a fast swing missed the green for my only bogey. Missed alot of putts before that, but will take that seeing as I'd only managed -4 once in 20 rounds prior.
-5 should make the cut, will wait until Saturday to finish up to see if I have a chance at a top 50 or even 25.
Good luck those still to start, round 2 is much less stress.

-1 -8 -6 -7
-22 Pretty happy with that score given the course and the conditions. Played really well overall and made some great pars to help my score.
Was -6 after 9 in round 4 after flopping in for eagle on the par 5. Was -9 on the 18th and drove into the water and made double bogie which is going to kill any chance I suspect. Played the 18th for +5 over the 4 rounds. Never want to see that hole again!
No idea where -22 has me, tough one to read with the conditions. Hopefully top 10-15! Good luck to everyone apart from those that beat my score.

-5 first round, 2nd place on PSN when I finished. Pretty excited. Then I realized I'm not in PGA and played out the wrong society.
