Is fast backswing still adding some spin and carry? That is a really good mechanic.

Is fast backswing still adding some spin and carry? That is a really good mechanic. Isn't fast backswing not completing the full backswing in this game?, so adding distance doesn't make sense we should lose distance I think it is actually a signal that the stick changed direction before the club had reached the point it was supposed to be granted perfect "tempo" or backswing speed. So if you pull the stick back partially and then switch direction just as the club hits the position corresponding to how far you pulled back you get a perfect back swing. The boost from a fast backswing can be seen as sending your hips early, which is a common swing que for going after one - creating more separation in transition. So there is a "golf way" to explain it. As said, I like it, makes the game a bit more dynamic.

The loft changes are so good in fact that I think they may have made ultra sim defunct lol, the distance differences available through the loft box have been massively reduced, even a max loft isn't that much and the swing plane penalty is so severe that it makes it pointless. Now 85/90/95% swings are going to be needed for normal play. So we've had ourselves a head start over the pack How loft box should have been from the start, totally risk reward shots, on a different note larry if it's the same for draw fade shots should we not have that in Ultra Sim?.Very hard to play a controlled draw or fade with tempo management Yep exactly! Have to wait for HB to sort out the weird bugs first but honestly, if the loft changes they made last night are here to stay, I'm going to kill this society off, TST will basically be 90% the same thing. If anything it'll be more realistic with lofting and delofting having only a very limited range. Is fast backswing still adding some spin and carry? That is a really good mechanic. Isn't fast backswing not completing the full backswing in this game?, so adding distance doesn't make sense we should lose distance There's fast and there's fast... A fast backswing which is short just before completion gives you extra distance. An even shorter backswing then gives you 95%, shorter than that 90% etc. It's not the most intuitive but given the simplicity of an up and down joystick motion, I think it's quite a clever way of allowing more nuanced distance manipulation in the game.

Congrats once again to woody for winning the Yankee Doodle Waterboarding event at Pebble Beach, I thought my -20 thanks to the ace might have had an outside chance of winning this event but I was 3 strokes short... This week's event is at Augusta National ('18 pins). Greens are firm throughout, and winds are low, low, medium, medium; otherwise everything is set to default. Birdies will not come easy this week that's for sure! Edit: yep it's tough, fought my way to a +4 first round. If anybody finishes under par for this event they can be extremely proud of themselves!

Played with Larry's ghost and was going well till the 15th at +1, hit the green in two but had a monster putt that veered off right half way and nearly rolled into the drink. Fluffed the flop back into the drink and ended the hole with 8 matching Larry's 8 on 13, bogey, bogey, birdie finish for a 79.
Lovey course last week and this version of Augusta is fantastic, but evil pins on round 1 that I coped well with till hole 15.

Recorded my 2nd round, Augusta is a serious challenge with these settings. No idea how IRL tour pros don't smash their clubs more often at the masters.

Love the course and it looks great seems the pins are tricked out to make grid putting more difficult. Can be unplayable with marker off when above the hole. Also side hill putts are impossible to lag

Hello darkness my old friend... Well I think we've at the very least found a way of playing this game that's tougher than IRL pros have to deal with Next time I even mention Augusta in the same sentence as ultra sim settings, please smack me round the head with a bat.

Meh. Except for the game having some issues with the short game choices it presents (as evident on 15th for me), it plays just fine....

Had a bit more issues in rounds 2 and 3, Including a 5-putt... Also made a couple of insane ones.
Pretty happy with this one.
Starting to agree it plays a bit too harsh, but the benefit is that the leaderboard behaves more like a golf tourney.
Tied with Paisley going into the last round.

Was in great position to take this tournament, but decided to choke myself out on 15. Was not pretty, but perfectly in line with the tournament name. The last 7 minutes of the stream is some horrid golf.
