we will be continuing this tomorrow, i will restart doubtfuls course as i left that before i should have, was in a terrible mood. will update this thread accordingly soon,. Alright, thanks. I caught the replay and wasn't particularly happy with the review. It's fine if you don't like the course, but I'd like to hear more reasons why, so I'm definitely hoping for some more constructive feedback when you resume. For the record, the tee signs on the greens are meant to be dummy flags; my course is inspired by a real-life course (the Renegade Course at Desert Mountain) where each hole has two flags.

Big thanks Taste... got exactly what I needed. I want honest feedback... I went for gameplay and missed on execution... but I can fix that... good tips all around.

Would have honestly preferred you just skipped my course when you were not feeling it after the first hole. I had considered you a top notch designer and someone I had learned from but if thirty minutes of your time to play completely through a course and give some feedback or a constructive opinions on something are too much maybe give everyone a break and just stop these streams. We all put a ton of time in these courses and to have you disrespect my course by quitting after 7 holes my opinion is you're a joke.
Brutally Honest Feedback of you

Someone needs to start a "reacts" series of designers watching taste review their courses. Now that would be some good watching

all groups have been completed, except for group G, will be doing those later on this week. (sams video will be posted shortly) Sam's agenda driven video has now been posted....... Outdone yourself with this series Jezza.... Knew you could be a clown at times & always remember to take you with a pinch of salt...... ( "Vote Saguaro" campaign springs to mind). "Brutally honest?" ........ I think you've hijacked the official contest (especially by offering a decent prize) & taken a lot of the limelight away from @griff & co. Poor "taste" & poor etiquette in my opinion ...... I'm guessing you wouldn't even have done the "rated" playthroughs had Kiawah Ivory Coast made it through to the knock out stages? Lost a lot of respect for you over the last couple of weeks mate..... Top shelf designer who has little respect for some of his fellow forum members & the community as a whole. That's it - said my piece....... move on!

Will be closing this when I get home to cover the bases. With that said, the last three courses will not be getting done nor will anyone be declared the winner.
Lots of things to say here, so I will be sure I have the time to do so this morning around 6am give or take.

Aaaaaaaaand ain't that just "the taste way" ?? I take it I've shamed you enough about "stealing the contest" & taking the limelight from the official competition? And, how surprising that the 3 you don't do, are the 3 courses from your group? What were your reasons for skipping "group G" again? Two can play "your game" Jezza. There's "pissed" & then there's "tastegw pissed"!!

Hope you still have some fire in your belly by the time you get to the Group E courses. I've been waiting almost three years for some real feedback and mostly what I've heard so far is crap about rakes and gazebos. I'm not trying to be an ass here, Bradley, but you've actually gotten quite a bit of feedback...you've just chosen to lock on to 2 very minor things and apparently ignore everything else. If you think that taste isn't going to comment on some of the same things or spank your arse even a little harder you're kidding yourself. Example: everybody...and I mean EVERBODY has made a comment about not being able to see the green off the tee box on hole 12. A few of them have been VERY accomplished designers. Instead of acknowledging said feedback you instead chose to explain how we should be using different a multiple camera angles to see the green. I'm not exactly sure what feedback you're looking for unless you're wanting somebody to praise every single design decision you made. I'd be happy to give you a very thorough run through that points out every nit-picky thing, but I don't get the feeling that you'd be very receptive to that either. *shrug*...sorry you had a bad experience in the contest, man. Griff, I have been taking in all of the feedback about my course from here and elsewhere and I will try to respond to more of it when I get a little bit of free time. I only "latched on" to those two points (rakes and visibility from the tee on the 16th) because they are both 100% wrong. The visibility from every one of my teeboxes is just fine and you know it. I've played from all 112 of them without the use of the scout cam and had no issue seeing my targets. You and others use the scout cam as a crutch in both your design and your play and then complain when a default camera angle doesn't show the target properly as if it's a flaw in my design? Seriously? And then let's take the darling of Group E, Braes of Sutherland. I get to the 5th hole and it is COMPLETELY BLIND! Those of us who play without these aids have no way whatsoever to play this hole...I'm sorry Adam, but I quit my round at this point (although I did come back later and give it a play on the PS4). You cannot see a single speck of fairway or green from the teebox in ANY of the four camera angles. But you make absolutely no mention of this in your playthrough of Braes that you posted, Griff. Why the double standard? And by the way, I didn't have a bad experience with your contest. I believe that The Bait Shop has received much more exposure via this contest than it would have if I had just published normally. With that said, I will go over some of the other design issues that you and others have pointed out about the course sometime in the near future. But probably not here, as it looks like this thread is about to get ugly. Have fun guys.

Forgot one other thing that I wanted to add...
This is only one of many videos you can watch of people playing Carl's Bait Shop in VR. I would like to point out that there is no visibility issue on the 12th hole or any other hole here. In fact, it's probably one of the main reasons why the VR guys chose to feature an unfinished beta version of the Bait Shop when there were 100,000 other finished courses for them to choose from at the time.
I would also like to add that this guy seems to be a decent golfer and he shoots a 91. I doubt he thought the course was too easy.

First, I would like to apologize to all the designers in griff's contest, it's been said by a few people that the only intentions for this series of mine was to undermine or disrespect griff and/or his judges. this could not be further from the truth. I have a great deal of respect for griff and the judges, judging is a thankless job, as you can obviously see here and elsewhere. With that said, I have decided not to continue on with this series, because i know i can't convince anyone that this was not to undermine the real contest, there is no reason to continue, its a lose lose for me. I lose by quitting the series, and i lose by continuing the series, so i apologize for not seeing it through. now, with that out of the way, I have updated the first two posts in this thread accordingly. i have removed all scores from said courses. I am also willing to remove any designers videos from both this thread and from youtube if they wish me to, just send me a pm and no questions asked. the next bit of this response deserves another post.
