Going to be playing W12 later Jim, whats the crack with Muir of Ord then? Not much bit on the greens...and a lot of weird slopes...couldn't get a grip on it. Fairways are like a rock too Struggled to +3 through 7 but recovered to finish -5. Its certainly a tough one, the majority of pin placements are fair but there are some theres not a hope in hell of holding the green on. Wouldnt like to play on that sort of track every week mind.

Ok, a novice's view on these courses coming up. Apologies in advance to any designers I may offend! Fossmill: One of the most claustrophobic, oppressive courses I've played, trees and branches intruding into the trajectory of even the most slightest of misplaced shots. All the trees make green condition recognition in branch shadows impossible sometimes. It must be said, I disliked playing this course. The greens and pin positions however, I thought were not unfair. Royal Alden Links: A complete opposite to the previous - wide open visuals and rolling links fairways. I liked it, although I did struggle on the greens. One thing though - do all links courses have to have a boat and a lighthouse? Muir of Ord: A tight course, the narrowest of fairways with big punishments for straying off fairway. Trees! Bloody hunners o' them! Deep and thick - impenetrable in fact. I half expected to actually land up one of them. Where's the distance spreadsheet for shots taken from up a tree? As mentioned by others, hard fairways, fast greens make it tricky, but I didn't really suffer from the green angles others have noted. All seemed pretty fair to me. As I expected, I struggled on all three courses, mainly approaches and triple-putting unnecessarily, although the Muir of Ord Forestry Commission caught me out a few times. The learning process continues.

Played week 12 today. Played well in round 1, but got off to a slow start in round 2 and somewhat recovered. Round 3 was tricky with the fast and firm. But shot -29 for the tour. One of my better showings.

Sorry, guys... Week 13 will be published a bit later than normal.
It's holiday time (with the kids), and I'm not at home right now.
I'll try to publish in 3 hours or so if I can. If not, I'll do it tonight the latest.

Just played week 11, three excellent courses. First course, first hole, hit my approach just off the green, checked down to a putter to look at the green speed, then back up to the LW for my chip, forget to put it back on chip and hit a full LW 60 yards over the green in to the cabbage! Schoolboy error, cost me a double and was still +2 thru 6. For the rest of the 48 holes played about as well as I ever have Agree that some of the pin placements didn't suit the firm settings on the second course, but what a stunner. That 18th with the clubhouse and green complex might just be the prettiest golf hole I've ever seen. We will try and get some results out to you soon, everybody still catching up from their Christmas festivities. Thanks for your patience

Week 13 is now live!
Here are the courses for this week: - Matterhorn Golf Club (Swiss); by Brandon Pugh
- Free State Golf Club (Harvest); by Steve Pope
- Trumexall Private (Countryside); Marc Fischer
Once again, sorry for the delay! You still have those full 19 days to finish your rounds, so basically nothing changed. Good luck!

Justin the Guinea pig here. FYI, the "Out of Bounds" area on the 1st hole at Free State is a little....tight? Because apparently this shot is OB: IMO, a total overuse of the OB designation. But hey, guess I should have checked that beforehand...? That's as kind as I can be about that
