Exceptional work Jamie, plus points for scaring the old bat away. Thanks, and for what it's worth you beat SAM this week! I noticed that.

I didn't play my best this week, some good stuff and some bad The courses were very good and I enjoyed playing them for the most part. But I don't think that the second course was particularly suited to a firm setup where the pins were placed. Good luck all.

But I don't think that the second course was particularly suited to a firm setup where the pins were placed. I absolutely agree with that, Bradley. But I really liked the overall look/design of that course, that's why I sticked with it although I knew the pin placement wasn't top notch.

A week with Fossmill, my own course, and a Swiss course? This should be an awesome week, can't wait to play it. Edit: Went -5, -2, -3 for an easy to beat -10 overall. Sadly got done in by my own greens, and four putted one of them. Wasn't even a hard putt, just completely blew it.

Having put in a request for Fossmill I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a fan. I love a course where you have to plot your way around - good scores are available if you play the right shots and you can get yourself in all sorts of trouble if you don't! Easily one of the best tournament courses I've played, 4 rounds around this were utterly engrossing.
I look forward to playing your course as well, it's always good to see designers chip in on this thread. Hopefully you'll get some good feedback

Yes, me too! I get a fair amount of feedback from a designer's viewpoint, but less from a player's perspective.

Going to be playing W12 later Jim, whats the crack with Muir of Ord then? Not much bit on the greens...and a lot of weird slopes...couldn't get a grip on it. Fairways are like a rock too

Ill see what i think when played.
I dont mind firm greens now, even with concrete fairways but its essential they are fair.
Sticking pins 5 yards on greens when you need long irons to get in etc - not cricket.
At least give me a chance of getting within 10 yards.
