I use the left analog stick and use the 2 thumb method. I place my left thumb at 10 o'clock and the right thumb at 4 o'clock on both sides of the analog stick. It hits straight about 98% of the time and if it does miss, it's not much of a draw or fade. Just place both thumbs on the sides of the analog stick and never anywhere's towards the middle of it. Works for me, give it a try. I stand on my head with my tongue sticking out and pointing to the left. I then hold my breath for 4.9 seconds(not 5 cuz that throws me off). Maybe I should try tongue out and to the right?

I think a Hori will solve all my problems. I don't know about anyone else..but this game has gotten very tough over the past 2 or 3 months. The wind plays havoc with my ball like it never has before..very inconsistent...I can't hit the ball straight for the life of me...and putting and the glitches are to an unbearable degree in the game. When I was injured I had something to blame it on...now..I just suck.

I start by pushing the right joystick in a downward direction with my thumb on the centre of the joystick. Pause for a moment and without moving my thumb at all I thrust the stick forward as hard and fast as I can. The harder and faster I thrust the better I hit the sweet spot.
Almost always leaves me with a fade that is straightened out by a 2-3 mph wind heading due right to left.

I close my eyes and move the hands randomly. I may shoot an ace or slap my own face...

On PS4, I tend to use my thumb flat on the right stick.
I move it back fairly slowly/smoothly, before pausing at the top of the swing and thrusting the stick back through as quickly as I can. I don't look at the controller when I do this as it seems counter-intuitive.
I have the odd fade/slice but generally I hit the ball straight enough to be consistent in order to trust where I can aim. Since introducing the pause I also very rarely have under-hit shots. Certainly much less than before.

......thrusting the stick back through as quickly as I can. We're still talking about TGC here...right

Do not hold the joystick between your fingers. This leaves too much room for error in jerking it to either side. What I do is put the fleshy part of the bottom of my thumb on the lower half of the joystick and simply flick it upwards. Just what do you have as thumbs? This make absolutely no sense to me at all reading it. I have an XBox controller for PC and it's damn near impossible to emulate what you describe here. I have to grip the analog between my index finger and thumb...no other way to precisely move it back and forth Surprisingly, i did this and im actually hitting better and it helped me get -30 this week

Hey Wags just reread this original post since you posted the link over on my post and man does it make a lot more sense now. Back when I originally read it I just really soaked in the part about you moving up and kind of glossed over all the information you were providing. I really appreciate it! I will let you know how my progress goes over on my thread and shoot maybe even send ya a message if I really do something impressive for me...nothing for you but my goal right now is to finish a tourney at even par. A lofty goal for me at the present moment but a buddy on here just did it for the 1st time and its really a goal I want to meet! Thanks again for all the info you provided!

Sorry for asking what is likely a stupid question, but what is a "click"? Is that just the amount of movement when I slifghtly tap my analog stick sideways?

All I can say is; how did I miss all your precious tips? Thanks a lot for sharing and for making me feel less alone. I chose the same route, trying to get as close to the flag as I can to prevent long putts.

Thanks for the additional info guys. Yeah, ball lie and roll out are huge. I'm sorry I didn't cover it. I can. And there are other things too I probably left out. There is a lot to think about and I was doing the guide off the top of my head, not using any charts or notes, so please forgive me for the few oversights. It wasn't intentional. I was thinking of adding the additional notes and creating a PDF, uploading it to drop box and posting a URL so people could download it. What do you think? I would love to have a pdf if it's not to much work for you...I think more people and especially new ones like it. Kind regards

Sorry for asking what is likely a stupid question, but what is a "click"? Is that just the amount of movement when I slifghtly tap my analog stick sideways? I don't know how others do it, but on the PS4 controller I just use the d-pad and tap quickly left or right depending on wind direction. You can do it quickly with an analog stick too but I find the d-pad to be more accurate generally. The tips in this thread are great and have helped me immensely in my game. Thanks Wagtunes!
