It seems like something major has happened with the wind in this game. I usually have no problems with landing the ball close to the yardage I want but recently I seem to be way off on a majority of my approach shots. If wind is in my face 10 mph I always add 15 yards to my shot but now it sometimes lands 5-10 yards short of where I want it or wind at my back I have been flying pin high or even further on some shots. It would be easier to adjust to if it happened on every shot but there are times when it will land where it always did so it seems completely random. I have seen others mention this in other threads but I'm curious to see how many if any have the same issue.

Ive noticed this myself it all seems a bit more random. not a complaint just an observation. I use similar formula to yourself but now either add or take a bit away depending on were seems safer to end up. saying that my weekly swims are usually due to making these alterations .

Glad I'm not the only one. Kind of adds a bit more of a challenge to the game. If it's the same for everyone I kind of like it. Takes away some of the math involved. It does make shots over water to a front pin a lot more stressful

I think it is because the wind now changes mid swing just enough to affect it. Sometimes it changes quite a bit but either way its annoying.

I too have also noticed that some of my shots are not coming close to where I expect them to.
It's all good. I'm up to the challenge. LOL

While I'm still quiet okay with headwind, I see totally weird things going on when there's (strong) tailwind. Even more randomness and weirdness when lofting my clubs more than one bar (which is normally my style of play). The fact that I'm not the best putter on this game makes me pretty uncompetitive recently because of that BS going on lately... And (to me) it seems that they've changed something on pitch shots and how tailwind/headwind affects them. Previously I could throw darts at pins from any distance within 75 yards. The last couple of weeks I often struggle on those approach shots and leave myself with putts outside the 5y-range. Can anybody confirm that (too)?

I've noticed this more on crosswinds actually. I use click method for aiming left and right, and in the past month or so I've almost had to double the amounts I go left and right

I have noticed the same thing with chip shots. If there is a strong wind and I am outside of 55 yds it seems almost like a total guess for me anymore. With crosswords I have never used the click method so I'm not sure of any change in that.

Yes,pitch shots are definitely much more affected by wind this last couple of weeks. I thought it was just me but obviously not. I'm sure it is a good thing, they SHOULD be affected but it's taking a bit of getting used to. I use about a third of the wind for a pitch, plus or minus, slightly less for a short pitch - it's a work in progress but it seems to have helped.

Proper wind will go a long way to making the game better. It's gusting a bit and changing directions quickly now, all good things that will take the calculators out of your hands and your heads.
The way we were all calculating wind was a bit strange if not down right "insert politically incorrect terminology here". How could it be possible for the same wind to have the same distance effect all through the golf bag, but it did, it no longer does and that is a great thing.

I may be off because I am no expert but if the gods are making unannounced changes in the game, wouldn't there be software updates that we would notice?

From what I understand (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) some of what goes on in the game is at the server level. I don't know how true this is or if the winds are part of that equation, but that's what I've been lead to believe by somebody. Don't remember who.
