Ladies & Gentlemen:
We finally have late registrations at TGCT!! I know this has been a long time coming.
Effective immediately you can now register up to Thursday at 11:59PM EST for any tournament! NO more forgetting and having to email support (THANK GOODNESS!)
If you click "Submit Scorecard" on your tournament, you will be given an option to register if you haven't done so and it's before the Thur. 11:59PM EST deadline and you meet all other eligibility requirements.
NOTE: The "Submit Scorecard" has also been removed from the main page leaderboard (with true sim, this was causing issues). You can still find "Submit Scorecard" links in the Active Events grid.
Enjoy Guys!

Had a feeling that was coming.. Will probably save admin 3 hours a week (estimate) I would say our tickets go down 60% :-)

I would like to say that I helped move this feature forward in the priority queue.

I would like to thank all the people I've helped get us to this point. You all feel like family...going to shed a tear - I hope we'll see each other again soon!

Devil's Advocate Question: What is to stop someone (or do we care) from playing the tournament unregistered before Thursday at midnight? If they do well, they register. If they do not, they don't register. (ego protecting against missed cuts)
My thinking here is, as a guy that had to watch a lot of cutlines... watching and doing your calculations figuring you were in, and leaderboard watching... it would be kind of cruddy to think you had it locked up, only to wake up friday morning and find out 5 late registrations pushed you outside of the cutline.
Or would that be just an unfortunate trade off for cutting a lot of admin hassles? (which is a valid answer)

Specifically for those on the top tours... not that anyone would do this of course, but what stops someone for playing both the PGA event and Euro event as soon as the tournaments go live and just registering for whichever one they do better on?

I was thinking about the crossover implications as well... opens up a potential can of worms.

Tim will confirm - but you can't crossover after the deadline on Friday - at least that was the plan going into it.

If API finds a score already for the user then won't accept registration? Problem solved? Have to register before playing in either case.
Doable?

Just a quick reminder for everyone. If you register at 11:59 on Thursday that won't give you much time to play your rounds before the deadline. At least you have until the last minute though, which puts the responsibility on the player to get in with enough time. A little Captain Obvious but worth noting. SC

Won't this just open the door to people just playing the tournament without registering and if they do well then registering?

I get what you're saying, but I also think this is a pretty honest community. Afterall..if cheating at a video game in order to succeed is in your MO..you should rethink your standing in society.

It will happen... certain people will always abuse the system to their personal advantage (e.g. using tools to ensure straight swings).
