Shougleith Golf Club and Tournament Links.
Welcome one and all to Shougleith Golf Club and Tournament Links (Tournament Links coming soon). The course is located one mile from the village of Shougleith located on a nearby hill (nobody knows why they did not build it on the coast and have a harbour as a source of income but if they did that, this magnificent creation would not exist).
There are two ways to play our course: Shougleith Golf Club offers a splendid nine hole experience as a taster of the big Tournament Links. As such it plays on nine of the holes of the Tournament Links and some of the most difficult - especially the long par 4s. Playing Shougleith Golf Club presents the player with a 3,551 yard par 36 course, some pictures of which can be seen below.
Upon opening to the public, Shougleith Tournament Links will present the player with a stern test of golf with firm fairways and fast greens. The "big course" offers the player a par 71 of exactly 7,000 yards. Some minor surgery had to occur to the existing nine, such as building new tees and bunkers, as well as new pin placements for Thursday to Sunday (we prefer to call them A to D). Not for the faint hearted.
I hereby declare the official opening of Shougleith Golf Club (which actually happened five days ago) and announce the opening date of Shougleith Tournament Links as 5th November 2015.
