Hello to the members of 'A' flight. I'm up here for the first time on a sponsors exemption. I saw winds of anywhere from 5-8 to 9-13 mph for the 4 rounds(PS4). I played with the new patch and on one hole, the wind was 2-4mph and swirling around in circles. I've never seen that before. I also saw some inconsistencies with how side hill lies react that I've never experienced before either. With the ball above my feet (I'm a righty) I had multiple shots shoot out to the right instead of taking a hook action (and opposite on a downhill lie). That's very troubling. Anybody else experience these things?

Anybody else experience these things? The new patch changed a few things(ie chipping is more difficult, swirling wind etc) I find it to be actually more challenging. People see lower winds and they automatically think it's easier. Not necessarily the case. I didn't experience what you described on Skull Valley, but I just played a practice round on a different course and ball was definitely reacting the opposite of some of my fairway lies.

Well here i was expecting 2-4mph on my last round after PS4 update , Only to be confronted with the same 14-15mph winds ... not sure what's happening there.. Chipping ..lol what the ____..had a 4 yard chip and chipped it over the hole Anyway went round in 66 -66 -65 -62 ....for -29 ...happy with that in high winds Edit....no swirling winds either...

I'm up on Web, trying to earn a PGA card, and played this event after the update for practice and to test the patch. Ended up shooting -43 (61-60-62-62). I like the update (wind is more realistic/fair), but adjusting to the chipping will take some practice. It's VERY sensitive.
Good luck to all. Happy shooting!

When you say swirling, you mean while you're lining up for a shot, the wind marker is constantly moving in a clockwise or counter-clockwiser manner? Or did you mean from shot to shot it is exhibiting this pattern?

This was my first ever tournament on the tour, only did Q-School last week. I'd had three practice rounds on both courses, and managed to end up with scores of 66, 64,67 and 62 for a total of-28. Very happy with that, although a double bogey on my third round really let me down, damn those lapses in concentration! A few putts missing by an inch or so too didn't help, but my goal was -20 so yeah, quite chuffed! Good luck to all, its a lovely course. And feel free to add me peeps, my PS4 tag is in my sig

Cheers! I've been playing for a couple of months pretty solidly though, so there's been a lot of practice!

I think I did Q-School within an hour of browsing TGCT. In hindsight, I should have waited. My +38 (somewhere around here) in Q-School placed me on the low end of CC-C.

I found out about TGCT about a week after I got the game after watching someone stream it on Twitch but I could barely hit par on Little Brook Manor at that point! I left it until I got a bit better, and after mastering the swing where you had to slam the stick to get 100%, this new patch has made it far more relaxing so time to get stuck in. I got a couple of lucky rounds on the Q-School tour to give me even par throughout, and CC-A/B feels like the right level.

Or did you mean from shot to shot it is exhibiting this pattern? "Swirling" as in the wind marker was slowly rotating around the dial in a counter-clockwise fashion while I was standing in the tee box. It did the same for my second shot as well. The winds were also much more varied from hole to hole which I thought was a little more realistic (as opposed to the exact same speed and direction for the whole round).

Wow... if that happened with me, I never noticed it. I notice sometimes that it shifts slightly from the point at which I swing to when I actually get the ball in the air. But it is never more than a 30 degree rotation.
The swirling that you're describing actually moves at least a full 360 degree rotation?

played my first 3 rounds in winds that never got below 10 I think and was mostly mid teens pre patch. I still have my fourth round to finish tonight so hopefully if it is 15 shouldn't be a problem because every single round I ever play on the golf club lately is in that wind speed! LOL. If it is lower then it will be a disaster!
I am a little worried about the chipping so might have to play a practice round or two to get the feeling down.
