Winds were waaaaaay too calm. Not as consistent as they used to be, which was always within a 2 or 3 mile range. I saw gusts up to 12 mph on one hole, only to have it calm to 2 mph a few holes later. I think they changed the parameters of wind movement in this last patch.
For the most part, winds stayed between 5 and 10 mph for 90% of all four rounds.
For my first 200+ hours in TGC, I've been a strict mouse user. I've always felt that it gave me advantages over in FPS's versus using a controller and so I never bothered trying the controller for TGC. To top it off, I had a sprained thumb over the summer, so using the mouse seemed like a safer idea.
With this week's mouse patch, HB forced me to consider the wired 360 controller. It took me only one bad round before I was shooting as good as I was with the mouse pre-patch. With the controller, I put in 5 rounds on Skull Valley over the last 24 hours before beginning my first round at approximately 9:10 pm PST.
My first drive was a shank. This lead to hitting from the rough and an eventual bogey to start my first round. Not good. I hit at least one more bogey before the round was over and more pars than birdies. If it was not for birdying out the last four holes, my first round score would have been very sub-par for a course of this condition. As it was, I was relieved to pull out a 65 to end the round.
I had a bit more confidence in each successive round, ending each round better than the previous. By the time I got to the fourth round, I was able to match my record on Skull Valley Course B, something I have never done in tournament play before.
Even though I played lights out in my last 18 holes and scored a personal best, I don't expect to win this week. So many good players in CC-A. There will be many of you that will take advantage of the low wind and easy wind conditions for this week.
Best of luck, and may the best man or woman win!

So you guys on the PS4 and XB1 not getting the winds I reported? That's unfortunate.
Would it make you feel better if I didn't report my scores this week?

Of course not, but yeah, winds are different (set) on the consoles. I think in the new update they set the winds to gust in a certain wind range.
My first 3 rounds were 9-12. Haven't played the final round yet. Oh well.

Perhaps if it happens within the next day or two, they can simply reset the rounds for XB1 and PS4 so no one feels like they're getting the short end of the stick. It's really not anyone's fault that this happened.

Nope it isn't. Personally I wouldn't want to replay. Although I may change my mind after a 15 mph round 4 but I am sitting -23 through 3.

Well I finished up nicely in 15 mph winds with a -9 to finish the tourney at -32. I will take that and move on.

I can only report on the first round on the pc, it was 5-9 mph. Shot a -2 (70), just couldn't get the putter to work for me and no luck at all. Greens are fast but the course itself isn't too hard. What the new patch did was mess up my chipping. There is no moderation on your swing, it goes straight to 100% very quickly which caused two bogeys for me.

Okay, I think some people will enjoy this.
My first round I had over 70% shanks. By shanks, I don't mean "oh, it's slightly to the right". No, I mean "did you know that you can hit the water on #6, the par 3?" and "I didn't think you could get a white shot line that nearly bent 90 degrees" and "Wow, I don't think anybody will ever hit a golf ball within 50 yards of that shot." I hit I think at least 5 water hazards. Had a quad bogey on #2 (I didn't even get past the tee box until I was lying 5) and a triple bogey somewhere (I think two of them) and other fun things. Yeah, real fun...
After the first round I decided to close the game, unplug my controller, re-open the game, and move the window to my G-sync monitor. Suddenly I wasn't shanking nearly every damn shot. Frustrating as hell to have a round like that while up in exemption. (Honestly, it doesn't matter too much, I'm hoping to move on from the championship, haha).
Anyways for the scores:
76 (+4) 61 (-11) 59 (-13) 63 (-9, with almost all the scoring on the back 9 with a missed 6' eagle putt)
That's a total of -29. I'm pretty confident if I didn't have the swing issues on the first round I would have definitely challenged your score, mrkuo. Maybe next time...

Jared, that four over is certainly an uncharacteristic round for you. Glad you figured out the issue and are back on track.
