Well it just happened to me twice in 1 round. It's the first time I've played with a ghost ball in a tournament. I knew if I could stay within 10 shots of the leading exemption player I'd have a great chance. I thought it would make it interesting to play along side. I decided to make sure I only looked at shots if he had the honour etc.
2nd hole, straight into the water. I hit it 88% which is the first time that's happened since adjusting to the new swing. The drop put me on the green where the ghost ball was. Prior to reading this I would have took the drop back to the tee but after a few minutes deliberation I took the drop on the green. I missed the putt of course.
Then some karma came and bit me on the behind. 175 yards to go on an approach, the ball landed around 10 yards short to my disbelief. I checked the replay expecting to see what I did wrong. The strange thing was, my shot went 178 yards and the distance was 175 still. How could I be 10 yards short? by the 18th hole I had totally lost it, out of contention for a promotion completely. On the final hole I hit the water, again 80 odd% and had the same outcome. I missed the putt again and got another bogey. I felt awful doing it and almost feel that my guilt made distracted me completely off my game.
Sorry for the ramblings but in summary - Karma will get you back Has anyone seen holes showing 10 yards shorter than they are?
