Hey all, just a quick question here. So in a couple of rounds I've played in I've hit some errant shots into the drink. When I go to drop it puts me right on the green. I just was wondering what the guidelines were when this happens during a tourney. Don't want to get myself DQ'd. Thanks. Oh Im currently in CC-D

As far as I know, this won't DQ you -- it's an unfortunate bug in the game that needs to be fixed.

Oh I didn't realize it was a ghost only thing - guess that's why I haven't noticed in tournaments...
If that's the case, then some policy should be in place

if you do your homework right you can easily birdie every par 5 without any risk , just check ghosts on course before you play round see who lands closest to pin ..then in tournament just hit in water while making sure you have correct ghost for that hole and you will be placed just behind there ball on green..

I know there are at least 2 par 5s where if you stick it in the water on your 2nd you can have a tap in putt for birdie. Never done it deliberately as that would be pathetic but unfortuantly it is something HB need to deal with

Unfortunately there will be a small number of pathetic people who will do this on purpose. Can we put any rules in place to stop this until HB sort it? I'm not sure if this is right but can rangers check this has happened? If they can we could make a rule to say if it happened to you, you're not allowed to make the birdie putt. I'd also be happy to ban ghost balls in tournament play but doubt that could be checked.

Totally agree but even if HB want to that would be some way off. Anyone have any ideas how we can deal with it on the tour until this option is available?

Yeah, me too. I do not play with ghost balls and when I hit it in the water, it allows me to put it on the green. Is there even another option to drop it somewhere else? I never tried but I assume you only go back so far.

Not sure that is true, and we have seen reports above of people getting it ghosts or no ghosts. Is there even an option of puting it elsewhere? Clarification is probably warranted though.

I'd be interested to see what the admins have to say. It happened to me again last night. I just moved back as far as I could as it didn't even put me close to where I went in the water. hope honesty doesn't nip me in the butt here.

Does this really have to do with ghost balls? That would shock me. I just figured it was a bug where the game doesn't distinguish between green/fairway and also has no concept of the 'no closer to the hole' rule.
I can't imagine ghost balls affecting things.
