Yeah, wind was about 7 mph, but the pins make it tough to get close.

My final round had everything good and bad about my game. I started poorly with a par and a bogey, the dropped shot was annoying as it was a low percentage shot. As always with shots like that, I felt it as soon as I took the shot. I soon recovered with birdies on the next two holes but something did not feel right with my approach shots. I was giving myself a lot to do, at least I was putting well. The rest of the front nine went in a pattern, par birdie, three under after nine was not to bad. I could have had a eagle on the eight but the putt lipped out. I was happy with birdie but those extra shots can make a huge difference. The night hole nearly killed my chances of staying in cc-a. A poor tee shot left me in the rough with the branches of a tree in the way. I found the green with my approach but my long putt just rolled and rolled. My uphill chip was terrible and I could only two putt for a double. One under par after ten was a bit of a sickener to be honest and my confidence just dropped but there was still holes to play so I had get on with it. My approach on the eleventh was as good a shot I played all day. I had given myself a good eagle chance, the chance to get those shots back straight away. The break was not to bad and as I lined up my putt, I said a little prayer to the golfing gods and took my shot. Watching the ball roll towards the hole was a moment of pure excitement , it seemed to travel in slow motion so I could see everything in clear detail. The slow roll of the ball, watching it turn as it headed towards the hole, watching it slide past by a inch, watching it stop on the green and not in the hole, so damn close and yet so far away. The frustration of missing the eagle quickly evaporated, it was a shot back and there was still work to do. Then the slow motion effect happened again, watching my tee shot land exactly where I wanted to, the slow roll of the ball towards the hole, the ball stopping just before the hole, a missed ace. I had recovered my two dropped shots but it could have been so much more. It was so many emotions in such a short space of time, the agony and ecstasy of golf and it was not finished yet, not by a long shot. And a long shot is what brought my next birdie, a long putt to be precise. I think it was around forty feet, I was to busy dancing around the room after it dropped to remember how long it really was, I was back baby!! I had a 180 yard approach on the fourteenth and yet again it was so close to being perfect,it clipped the edge of the hole. If it had hit the pin full on, it might have stopped, even dropped but it rolled of the green. It put a stop to my birdie run but I was feeling good about my game again. I birdied the next two holes, nothing dramatic this time, just good steady play, six under with two to play. I think I tried to hard over the last two holes, knowing every shot counted and feeling confident again, I just went for it but could not manage any more birdies. I am disappointed about the way I played the last but that's golf. So a sixty six to finish, nine birdies a bogey and a double. But more importantly a round of excitement, a roller coaster ride of tears and cheers. A round that's shows why I am still playing this game and tour for so long. Will it be enough, time will tell. As for you dear reader, have fun out there. That sounds like a very eventful rollercoaster of a round Dan, congrats on the 66 im sure you'll be fine this week

finished up, +5, -9, -3, -6 for a -13 total. 1st and 3rd rounds where let downs. I was rushing 3rd as I had kids bothering me and time crunch. Need to submit scores when I can.

If only I could make the real rounds feel like practice, then I'd be fine! Lol working through the front nine of the Saturday edition and got down to a -5. The real thing never goes so smoothly!!

And those hard lengthy putts always seem to be more on point in practice as well!!

Yeah, wind was about 7 mph, but the pins make it tough to get close. Yeah, I was excited about trying to go really low in round 4 with lower winds (I went 67-67 in rounds 1 & 2) but those pin placements killed me. I couldn't get anything close and the putts wouldn't fall. Pretty sure round 4 was my worst score.

I guess that's what it was. I figured "oh, if I shoot 66-67 in the wind, I'll be much better when the wind's down" without thinking about the tricky pin placements.
Really curious what the top 10 cutoff will be.

Hi Dean -- I finished -22 and I'm sure I'll lose by 5-8 strokes. Good luck on your exemption (I'm confident you'll get it). -18 gives me a chance but I'll have to wait and see.

I think -18 has a shot of being just in the top 10... but there are so many people within 4-5 shots after two rounds that anyone can step up, get hot on the low-wind round, and leapfrog some people.

Finished up with a -14 for the tourney. Not that great considering all the birdie putts I missed in the final round to finish with only a -2 after scoring -7 on one of the windiest days and a -12 in one of my practice rounds. During tournament rounds I get so into I feel like I'm gonna give myself an anurism when I miss those puts lol I need to calm down!

Really curious what the top 10 cutoff will be. I found round three to be a real challenge. Pin placement and wind direction just made it tough for me to get the ball where I wanted it. But hey after starting plus 5 and finishing -13, I'll take it. Hope you can hang on for the win!
