Don't think we do Q school again
I've seen a post around here about having some sort of fall tournaments/season.
Otherwise this site would go dead for 6 months so they will do something I'm sure. I've been here since January, (lurked debating it for months before) Orion has been around since before electricity so he will know what happens in fall

Thanks...I joined relatively late into this season and although I am struggling to grasp the game, I think I am closer to where I belong in CC-E. A fall tour would be excellent.

They have the idea of Country Clubs floated out there. I think this was for the off-season. There may be something else that we don't know abut, too. I am sure the staff are coming up with something. They are top notch.

Sarintra, Thanks for the congrats on the Ace, I must say that I really appreciate your overall attitude and outlook with all that is transpiring within the CC-E group. It is very refreshing and one of optimism, so thanks for that, it is a little contagious and we all need something positive.
Just need to clarify my statement on the desire to have different courses for the CC tour. Know that will never happen, work load is way too great to go there again and I can appreciate that. Just a "pipe dream" on my part. I believe that there are other options and we will probably see something a little different with the next year's schedule. We are committed with what we have in place now and like you said we must adapt and just try a little harder. All that what I said is more to the point of trying to get the CC-E back to communicating in the threads about the golf and less on the moaning. I am just as guilty as anyone else, so that statement goes to me also. I will try harder to limit the comments and shorten up my responses.
Good luck with the rest of the tourney to all.
Orion.......................
Orion Congrats on the Hole in One. And to do it is a tournament even better. Although i can see the merits in the CC being split, once again that would involve more work by the organisers. I think they do more than enough. The next 2 courses have difficult holes. Of course they do. I'm really not interested in playing easy courses that don't present me with a challenge. I won't learn anything. Because we have this medium to discuss things, they have already said that changes will be made going forward. Refreshing that they actually care enough about us to make these. Onwards and upwards guys. Lets try to enjoy it shall we. Take whatever course they decide, play it, practice it, but most importantly enjoy it. Just my opinion. No wish to offend anyone here. Orion
Thank you very much. Not always sure how my posts will be taken so your feedback gives me the confidence to contribute within the CC.
We are communicating and if there is anything i can do to help along the way then that would be my way of giving something back to the community.
What we have here isn't by any means broken, it just needs a little modifying. I am certain that things are being discussed behind the scenes but we all have to realise that any changes (if any at all) will not suit all parties. Then we will probably be back to square one.
Thanks again and don't water down your posts. It helps to get things off our chests and will encourage other newer members like myself to contribute

Well, off to a decent start at least. Managed a respectable (for me at least!) 75 for a +3. Can't be unhappy about that. Holed three really nasty par puts to keep my strokes down. Focus now is just to improve on my last finish.

They are top notch. I believe they follow the PGA Tour season, which begins their seasons in the fall. There is actually a very minimal time in between golf seasons on the PGA. It looks like the first official PGA event for the 2016 season would be the first few weeks of October, but I believe some WGC events may also be in there somewhere.

That was with negligible winds, but it did make me feel better going into the tourney (which I haven't started yet). I can only hope to do as well as you!

Sarintra,
Just want to assure you and the others that there are definitely talks going on behind the scenes pertaining to the issues that are before us. In no way am I privy to such discussions, but having put myself out on a limb, as it were, I have had a few conversations with Scott about these issues. He has challenged me to give him some feedback about the courses and also put me into a position to be part of the process, a small one, but at least I can contribute something to all of this. That is why I wrote what I did in an earlier post about everyone putting in some sort of input to the course selections thread. If we want some change, good change for those of us with the lesser skills, got to give the Staff some feedback, not just rumblings out here in the forums.
Also, will never not say what is on my mind, just need to trim it down at times. With some of the lengthy posts I put up, think a lot of people will skip over them just because they look too long. That is just human nature, I have done it myself and I just need to limit "painting the picture" too concisely. Will never water down my thoughts, be assured of that.(LOL)

Round 2 got off to a really nice start, good rhythm through the early holes, made some headway on recovering some strokes from Round 1, and actually got to under par for the tournament. Was really taking advantage of the nice winds we got in this round, then came to hole #15, hit my tee shot into the water, and the wheels came off. Never was able to recover from that shot. Think that the course was seeking revenge on me for that Ace from Round 1. Anyway, found myself at the end of the round 4 strokes over, 6 over for the tourney. You know that the higher winds are yet to come and course management is crucial on this course, so the work has yet to start, IMHO!
Hope that all of you players have some better luck this week, did notice that there were some strikes earned from last week, so the streak is gone and real world events are now upon us all.

Thanks! 2nd round turned out to be even better. Ended up at +1. Pretty manageable winds helped and I had a few decent approach shots and a couple of really good puts (there's something I can't say often!). Round 3 tonight after a real round. Good luck!

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I too have been here since day one of the game and I think TGC Tours. My memory is not that precise.
Support for a change of courses in the lower ranks of CC is obviously out there. But in my opinion it would be a major headache for the guys running this to have 2 different components, let alone the awarding of points etc. I see a need for change but as radical as is suggested I doubt that will eventuate.
Imagine a better than average 5 or 6 players starting at Z and then moving to the top ranks of D, after course and wind changes that have been mooted and indeed instigated. Then, finally making the Grade change to CC - C and whamo!!. The difference would be a major heart attack if the changes indeed took place.
But I get back to the headaches involved with the allocation of the points system as our group of volunteers of TGC are already stretched of their own personal time. This would indeed be nothing short of unmanageable. I am not a computer/maths expert but to segregate and report individually I see as being impossible.
I am just an average or below average CC - E player and enjoy the game and it's competitive nature of tournaments and then playing with my friends as 'ghosts'. Time zone differences are making it difficult to set up real time games.
So, in my humble opinion, is not to appoint different courses for the lower levels but rather look at the wind factors overall. I can manage winds up to say 12 mph but when the wind is consistently not in your favour it is quite disheartening. Often if the wind is behind you it is on a short par 3 with very little opportunity to lay up on the green. Or the reverse applies on a par 3 with 14 mph directly at a westerly direction.!
In addition some greens of late have been almost impossible to putt. I will not go into detail on those as I'm sure others have. But a more fairer/favourable approach is to have greens where you can confidently lay up and have a real opportunity of birdie or at least a par saving putt without the ball running some 30 feet past the pin to the second rough cut.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your next round/games and my kind regards to all,
oz
(BTW, I completed my 4 rounds and was not a happy chappy)

Came apart completely in round 3. 91. +19. A little wind and I couldn't hit for ****. Useless. I threw everything away. Oh well. Good thing I had decent rounds up until now at least.
