All major's are co-sanctioned events. So they are all part of the PGA and Euro tours. Co-sanctioned is more along the lines of the results are recognized by both. Not really talking about that, talking more about invitation criteria. For Euro tour guys getting an invite that don't really have any track record at PGA events (like myself), it would seem to fall under category #12 as listed here (using the real PGA Champ as an example). On the official (real life) tournament, WGR is only a secondary criteria (recent Ryder Cup player, as long as inside top 100 WGR). PGA money list is a big determinant... not WGR. I'm not fussed about it one way or the other, and I'm fine with some liberties here and there on criterias to work within our TGCTours world. Was just a bit surprised. When I chose to join the Euro Tour, I just assumed I was giving up the chance to play in the PGA Championship and the Fed Ex cup as a matter of course. Much like I would figure if I joined the PGA Tour, I would be giving up the chance to play in the Race to Dubai.

I recieved an invite and would love to play but need to play my Euro tourney that week. So as long as I dont hit accept by my name I will not be moved to the PGA Champ. correct??? If you qualify for the PGA, you can't not accept and then go play in the European. It doesn't work like that. You have to play the major or sit out the week. You still pick up race to dubai points in the Majors I shouldn't have to play anywhere that's kinda messed up. Im in a race to get in the top 125 on the Euro money list to keep my card for next year. I should be able to play the Euro event if I like. The Dubai points are nice and all but Im right on the bubble in the Euro. and have worked hard to get there. I shouldn't be forced to play anywhere. Really think that rule is crap!!!!!!
I could see if I was in the top 50 and was set to keep my card, but Im not. Im 159 WGR and around 130 on Euro money list, but I HAVE to play another event. Explain to me how that helps some1 in my standing.

I agree, and have argued that point myself as well but the rule was kept in place. It is what it is Your money you earn from this event will go towards your Euro Money though

Thing is though Elk, the Euro Tourney is a made up event to give guys not in the PGA something to do, so you could argue it's unfair that those who don't qualify for the PGA have the ability to earn any money that week.... If you qualify for a major, you play it. That's what any real life pro would do. btw, playing well in the PGA will help anyones standing - the purse is 9 times bigger. You'll probably earn more money Euro money just by making the cut at a major than you will in the minor event.

It is good to know the money made at the PGA Champ will go towards my Euro cash. I wasn't sure about that. Just gotta make the cut. Ty for the info. I thought playing there would put my money on the PGA side.

Just accepted the invite, but I have a question regarding this: I'm still registered for the EUR-event (W32). Is it like last week, where if we accepted invites for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and where in the field, we are automatically taken of the list for the other/alternative event on the European Tour? May I throw in that question once again, please? Thank you!

Yes, if you are registered for Euro, accept your invitation and get into the PGA Championship, you will automatically be removed from the Euro field and registered for the PGA Championship.

Just want to throw something out there... first, I'm not against the rule of "if you skip a major, you don't get to play in anither event". I understand why you guys have put it in place, HOWEVER, To say that all pro's play in any major they are invited to, or have qualified for, is incorrect. Kenny Perry, for example, is famous for having not gone to the open championship so he could stay home, pick on a weaker field, and gain both on the money list as well as ryder cup points. (It also worked for him, btw)

TGC Tours stance is that the best players do well week in and week out and don't take many weeks off - so the minor events are a chance for others that struggle to make cuts/top 25's and let them have a chance at a top 10 albeit with a much smaller field, less purse and FedEx pts on the line.

There have been a lot of golfers miss majors by choice. Im all for keeping the tour realistic, but don't agree with this rule at all. There is a PGA event that week and a Euro as well. I understand why the rule was made and Im honored to be invited, but the chances of me making the cut at the PGA are very slim. As I mentioned earlier in my situation it would be better for me to play the Euro event. Im in a chase to get in the top 125 in the money and I should be able to play where I want to. Esp seeing that Im outside the top 150WGR. I wouldn't even think twice about the invite if I was in the top 100 or knew my tour card for next year was 100%, but right now making $10,000 at Harvest Plantation or missing the cut at the PGA and getting paid nothing could be the difference in keeping my card.

I accepted the invite on the link in the opening post however I never received an e-mail invite. Is there anything I have to do with the e-mail or is it just a reminder about the tourney?

I just read it myself.
