New week new hopes.
Round 1 in the books for me with a 70. I was bogey free until 14 and 15. Then I blew the birdie on 18. Slopes are tough on this course. 10 mph winds were doable but it looks like 14 in round 2 which will make it tough.
The sun irritates me on this course. There are many holes that it is right in your eyes and it is blinding.

Got all 4 rounds done early as I'm away all week for work. It's a pretty forgiving driving course but I've found it tricky to get it close to the hole with the approaches. The fast greens make it quite interesting too!! I'm playing on a sponsors exemption this week and have been in some good form.
I finished the tournament with 66 67 66 61 (-28) I managed to go bogey free for the tournament which was great but I feel I could have scored much better since I drove the ball very well! I feel this won't be quite good enough to win but should put me up onto the CC-A for good which is pleasing.
The wind was as follows R1 - 10mph R2 - 14mph R3 - 10mph R4 - 7mph
Good luck to all

That's a phenomenal total, well played. You're more than capable of handling yourself on the PGA/Euro Tour, let alone Web so the sooner you're there the better as your scores are destroying any chance I have of ever getting an exemption to CC-A (though on my current form that's irrelevant)!

Thanks Paul. I've had way too much time on my hands over the last few weeks. Amazing what some practice will do! Haha I didn't feel that this course was as difficult as the past few weeks and yet I scored worse. Maybe the fact that the greens are fast makes it a few shots harder. Will soon see

Haha! I thought that about the practice mate, even managing a -7 on the front 9 alone in one round (back 9 killed that run - don't think I ever went worse than -3 on the front but the back was a different kettle of fish) but that didn't help one bit in the tournament sadly.
You have to hold your hand up and give credit where credit is due. You're very consistent and that final round 61 is seriously good, wind or no wind. I've got the game to do it but it's putting it all together when it matters and that's what's costing me at present.
If anyone beats -28 then I'm gonna call in the anti-doping squad!

Hahaha. It's always hard to know. I felt I played much better last week and only just won. I know what you mean. There are days when it just feels better than others (like real golf I guess) On a few occasions it has felt like crap so I just exit and have a rest, sometimes I might not come back til the next day. When I first started I tried to push through it for average results. It takes dicipline but if you ever feel like something isn't right, just have a break. Clearly you have the game, so you will be fine

Hey all, Got an exemption to play up here this week and very happy to be here. Good luck to all on this one, haven't started my rounds yet (and a bit nervous to be honest!) but have a feeling it will be a pretty tough week with those fast greens. Is there a rainy day on this tourney? I hope so cause these greens were intense in practice and the rain may help one of my rounds!

Played the first 36 yesterday at -5, played the last 36 today at -15. Just wasn't sharp yesterday. Everything was 20-30 feet away, and I rarely make putts from that range. Today I was far more dialed in, but wasn't enough to overcome my crappy first two rounds.

First round winds for me was 12mph but the wind wasn't the problem, my putting was. Absolutely terrible. First hole triple bogey and I was on the green in regulation, ouch! I did manage to get even par for the first round with an Eagle to end things. Better practice with the short stick or I may be getting a strike.

not a fan of this course, & what with swinggate, still struggling to be consistent. might wait for a few days, get a bit more practice & hope the winds die down

Cannot believe how many of you guys are shooting -20 and lower. Can you not all just lie and pretend it was around par?!

Seems to have gotten worse for me. First 2 rounds this week were terrible, loads of 90 odd swings, loads under 90! Feels like I'm the only 1 struggling!
