After finishing 7th last week and narrowly missing the chance for a Web.com tour, I'm back for another CC tournament. Another good course, though I wouldn't put it in the Great category. Seemed to depend a bit too much on tricked up slopes near greens and lightning fast putts. Besides that, not too many complaints with the course itself.
As for my score, I ended up with a disappointing -20 due to a very poor round 4.
Round 1 - 66 (-6) Round 2 - 66 (-6) Round 3 - 65 (-7) Round 4 - 71 (-1)icu
Ugh! Only a -1 on a course where my average round in sub 10mph winds is around -7 to -9 was really disappointing. Can't point to any particular issue - I just couldn't get an approach within 15 feet to save my life. Was +1 after 14 and managed a couple birdies to close to get to under par. Very frustrating!
Guessing that score won't be enough to get a top 5, so I'll likely have another top 15 and go on to next week's tournament. See you all then!

Started off with a respectable 68, but a disappointing round in general. Lots of bad putts. Then I played round 2 and my crappy putting continued. The 18th is my enemy on this course, and I doubled bogeyed it to end the 2nd. That pin is in such a tough spot. Finished the round with a 75. Then I played the third. Started with a double bogey.....but managed to recover and get to -4. Missed many putts in the back nine and ended with a 68 once again. Haven't played the final round but pretty disappointed. Was hoping to stick around on CC-A but it'll take an amazing final round to do so.

I had an abysmal second round. The same putting stroke o was using in day 1 was sending the ball flying past the hole today. There were way too many 200+ yd approach shots on par 4s for my liking. It was always too short for a 5 wood and long for 3 iron.
Thankfully I erased my strike last week. Hopefully I can rebound in rounds 3 and 4 but I'm not holding my breath.

88 first round....yes a 88 that what i shot..hahaha
i did pretty much give up after the 3rd hole , I couldn't get the hang of the wind , but it was my first few approach shots that would be 10 yards short of green even though they were 100% , looked at replays and every time i would think i would use same club again ...on the back nine was starting to get used to wind ,had be using the 1.5 clicks per 1 wind method , had to go out to 2.5 per 1 wind..
i think it gave me a iron by default and i chipped on green too, so i'll be DQ ..

Not two much to write about with my first round. I birdied the second and that was followed by fifteen pars but another birdie on the last. Not the most exciting round I have played. I did not play badly, I just did not give myself any real chances. Maybe I played two safely and should have gone for the hole more. Still, a under par, bogey free round is not a disaster. I will see as other scores come in what sort of rounds I will have to play to avoid a strike and hopefully can match the mid table scores. If I can't do that, at least I might have something to write about. Good luck all.

On web this week trying to earn my card. However, I'm also playing this one as I'm gonna play turn based for the last 2 rounds with my mate who's on CC-A. Anywho, I hit a 70/82 start. I don't know whether my heart was not in it or I just played really badly, but it's a tough course indeed for the Challenge Circuit.

Luke, you don't know me but I see your PS4 scores on the leaderboard all the time. Obviously your heart wasn't in it 'cos I'm a lowly CCE and you usually beat me by 10 shots a round but I had what I consider to be a good first round at 1000 islands and shot a 69. Couldn't believe I beat you by 1 shot. So yeah - not yourself at all. Good luck in the Web Tour man.

couldn't wait to get this tournament over & done with. hate the course, or maybe coupled with the problems some of us on ps4 having, it's got the better of me.

My four best rounds in practice totalled -23 and my average totalled -16 so it's really deflating to only go -2 in the tournament. I think it's just one of those courses I simply will not do well at from a tournament perspective no matter how many times I try. I'm astonished how many people are going lower than -20 and some of the first round scores on CC-C through to CC-E are much much better than I would have ever expected. Sometimes you just have to accept that some courses are just not for you and this for me is definitely one of them.

Luke, I was surprised to see you post higher than me at Charthurst. I really struggled tournament round with loads of 90 odd swings. Lucky to post under par. Went and did a similar thing round 2 and completely forgot about the cut! Nice to see Tim and Adrian flying high - their souls are meant for Web and beyond. Decided to give 1000 bogeys a play - tough greens and I'm crap in wind. Played Hammos ghost ball all tournament - a fine golfer and really consistent putter. He won't be in CC for long. Until I can be consistent, CC is the place for me. Besides, didn't want to leave my pal, Norways no 1!

I just can't it going. The wind isn't the issue. I just can get the putting down. The side hillers are hard enough as it is and then the added green speed makes it not fun. Shot a 72 on day 3 to hold me at +1. I'm just ready to put this week behind me. I love the delta theme and the course looks great, but it might be frustrating me more than Hoodoo.
Just tap it in. Tap, tap, tap it in.

I like this course but to me the greens are too tricked out on the speed/slope side. When I hit a putt with good speed and it catches the hole it should not end up 15 feet away. In my first two rounds I had more lip outs then I can remember that left me with longer putts on the way back.
Like Tony said the wind didnt get to me, it was the greens. The course is beautiful, I love the layout, but the greens make this course very difficult for me. Not sure how the leaders are -20 under!! They are indeed putting gods!

Like I said earlier, I'm staggered how many people on the lower tours too are going under par! I genuinely considered myself to be a good player but this course has thrown that out the window.
Winds too not an issue, proving that with the lowest score (if I recall correctly) in the 19mph winds of the 2nd Round @ Loa Pali but the greens were seriously tough.
Nothing worse too when your ball rolls 40+ feet passed the hole and there's only half the grid to help you get it back!
