September Hills- Not approved - Autogen layout - Flat with huge fairways and large round greens - Trees/planting same size and no rotations. - No uniqueness and too bland. I wanted to ask for a little more explanation as this is my course. First off, I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion and I appreciate what everyone involved with TGC and TGC Tours is doing. I'm just trying to get better at The Golf Club - both as a player (I'm lucky to break par on easy courses most days) and course designer. I was trying to make September Hills look like Augusta National but utilizing the autumn theme. I can assure you this course was not AutoGen unless you mean that comment in a different way than I currently understand it. I spent approximately 30 hours on the original course and then about 15-20 more when the original was also not approved. Also: The course isn't flat, however if you only played the first 3 holes I can see why you may have considered it that way as there are no substantial elevation changes on those holes. The 4th hole features a drop of 36 feet from tee to green, while #5 has a 45-foot drop on the tee shot to a fairway with water on both the left and right sides. Holes #6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 18 also have drops of at least 20 feet either from tee to green or from tee to fairway. The second shot at #16 is a rise of 30 feet, while the third shot at #17 can be a rise of 20 feet if you are in the bottom of the valley short of the green. I don't think the course is exceptionally hilly by any stretch, but I also certainly wouldn't call it flat. The course was designed to have large fairways and greens - both in the attempt to replicate the feel of Augusta and because the course is very long at over 7,500 yards. I wanted the course to still be playable if the winds get over 10 MPH. I feel my only error with the greens was at the 8th hole, as I made that green a little too large. The only greens that I feel are close to "round" are at 3, 5 and 13... Does the course have faults? Sure. As previously stated, I feel that I made a mistake with the 8th green. The bunkering needs a little work, and there are two holes that I probably need to make 20 or 25 yards shorter in order to get them to play as they truly were meant to play. The point made about the trees is correct, but honestly I have never seen anything about how to change tree size or rotation so I don't know how to fix that unless someone can tell me how to do it. Finally, I wonder what exactly made this course bland? I want to make clear that this course, even in my eyes, isn't anywhere close to the Top 5 or 10 or 20 or 30 designed using TGC... However, I think it is a good course that's worth another look. "Bland" would be one of the last words I would use to describe holes such as #1, 4, 8, 9, 12, 16 and 18. However, again this is only my two cents and I appreciate everyone at TGC Tours for what you're doing to make this game even more fun and rewarding to play. Thanks for taking the time to look at my course. I took a look at this one, and I agree with Dale's decision regarding this course. I don't think it's autogenned, but the lack of bunker depth, large, flat greens and fairways makes this course feel very bland and uninteresting. Hole design is the most important part of a golf course, and it seems like you put some real thought into your holes, but the polish is lacking. It seems like most of your 50 hours was spent planning and a small amount was spent executing each feature of your course. A good course in this game cannot have just polish or good design, it must have both to be approved at TGC Tours. I recognize your name from some past TGC broadcasts. I recommend tuning in if you can and taking a look at some of the courses we play as well as watching some tutorial videos. I hope you don't get discouraged. It takes alot of time, patience and passion to create a course in this game. My first two or three courses were MUCH worse than yours, but some time with Youtube and other people's courses slowly increased my skills. Good luck with future designs!

Japan Hils Island Links not approved
Vegetation, added features are non existent on this one. Very barren feeling when looking at the course from the tee boxes.
Add some items to give it some character.

Rift Valley not approved
Clear out trees in front of multiple tee boxes and submit course for review again.
Course has great potential but trees blocking tees in high cross winds will make those holes unplayable.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my course. I dont think there is any way to change the rotation of trees, just like the bushes that are listed with the trees, but you change the size the same way you would increase the size of any of the brushes. (thinks its up/down on the d-pad)

Smugglers Lagoon - not approved There are too many faults on this course to debate whether it could pass. - Very rough around edges of greens especially where there are bunkers
- Retaining wall on 3rd has a massive gap joining the rough exposing the water underneath
- At least 9 blind tee shots
- 5th tee has signs blocking your view
- Bunkers too close to greens causing jagged edges
- Unnecessary mounds (more smoothing and flattening required)
- Too many red slopes on greens
- Trees overhanging fairways narrowing the drives
- Distance markers in middle of fairway (personally I am not a fan of this as balls can easily rest behind the marker)

Crystal Lake - not approved
- Bunkers inconsistent, mostly flat
- Dummy tees in the middle of nowhere
- Distance markers in middle of fairway while other markers randomly placed in rough
- Planting is not consistent, especially hole 5 where flowers are placed all around the green
- 6th tee has a fence where you need to hit in between. The seemed strange and didn't flow with the course.
- Holes don't flow. Looks like you would be walking 150yds to next tee on some holes

Pine Creek Hills Golf Course - not approved
- 1st hole forces you to use an iron on a par 5 to leave yourself with a second shot of 300yds +
- Most bunkers flat and weird placing
- No planting
- Some fairways have markers in middle while others nothing
- 90 degree doglegs with sharp corners. Looks like the letter L

Seems a tad harsh. 300 yard shot on par 5 for 2nd shot is fine. You are meant to make the green in 3, not 2. And our local club has the bottom comment with a couple of 90 degree dog legs! Having said that I haven't played this course so could still be dreadful!

There are brushes which can achieve this but have more flowing look. As with the 1st hole I don't have a problem hitting a par 5 in 3 but usually you have an option of club from the tee. Yes you could use a driver on this hole if you are able to get through the trees and cut the corner. This wasn't the reason why I didn't approve the course but something that stood out as soon as you get on the course.

Hello, first timer here. Just curious what could be done to make improvements to the course? Thanks I will send you a message tomorrow. Currently 2am here. I will let you know what to work on if you want to fix the course or start a new one. As this is your first course I can see potential. Don't let it discourage you from designing. I will message you tomorrow
