sroel908,
Thank you so much for the play-through and detailed feedback! I can't wait to start my next course and implement more of these ideas.

Wondering if I could get some feedback. I just submitted my course "Dragon Star Resort" for approval a few days ago and it received a "not approved" rating which is very confusing to me. I have watched all the tutorial videos, the video on this thread, and even had others review my course before i submitted. This is not my first course, I have had others approved, and as I believe this course to be a big step up from my previous courses, I at least expected it to be approved. I'm wondering if someone could give me some feedback as to why so I can avoid those mistakes in the future, or maybe there was some sort of mistake made? Im really unsure. Thank you!

I'm wondering if someone could give me some feedback as to why so I can avoid those mistakes in the future, or maybe there was some sort of mistake made? Im really unsure. Thank you! Just played a few holes here. Pin 4, blue tees, default conditions. Disclaimer: I am not a course reviewer, but I do ranger and schedule courses for the tours. Hole 1 - left-side fairway bunker is not visible from the tee due to sculpting. Hole 2 - more unintentionally blind bunkers here...a right-side fairway bunker is totally invisible due to sculpting, and the left-side one is just barely visible. Hole 3 - tree in the way off the tee...feels very random and is only there to force players to shape a shot. The large stone temple on the right side of the fairway down the hole is very much in play as well. Sculpting in general needs work, as there are some odd spots that look like they could have used a bit more smoothing (some odd humps in the light rough down the left of the fairway, etc.). There is also tall grass planted in the light rough on the left side. Hole 4 - this one is a very strange hole design. A tree is standing guard in almost directly in front of this par-3 green...and the green itself is almost a double green that has a bunker in the middle of the two putting surfaces? The bunker placement and sculpting in front of the green is very harsh and needs touching up. The pin I played has borderline neon green/yellow slopes thru the entire 9-box grid surrounding the cup, and this is on default 138 speeds. You could not speed them up any faster. Hole 5 - stopped my round here, on the tee, as bunkers again are unintentionally blind off the tee. The bunkers themselves also are not sculpted all that well, as they are quite uneven. Sorry to sound harsh, but there are some basic technical issues that would need addressing here to get this one close to approval. Sculpting is the biggest issue, as bunkers have uneven surfacing and the course in general has lots of random humps and bumps that need smoothing out. The bumps cause unintentional blindness, hiding hazards and such. Personally, the tight mow lines on fairways and greens are not great looking. There's also tons and tons of light rough here. It would really take some very poor shots to even sniff any trouble. Hole designs themselves were fairly benign, too...not much needed in the way of thinking off the tee or any kind of strategy. There are some cool environmental things here that tie into the theme of the course. It has a fun fantasy vibe to it, for sure. However, in terms of TGCTours approval, there are some fundamental issues that I can see that would have a reviewer keep this one from being approved.

Capitol Country Club - Red (and Blue and White)
Unable to find the courses. For starters I couldn't even type out the full course name in the search bar, so something seems wrong there.

Ross County Links - not approved First hole pinset 2 has an impossible pin Thanks for the review. I can see that pin 2 on hole 1 could have been better placed or flattened a little - curses :-). Is there anything else you could tell me to assist with my building?

Is there anything else you could tell me to assist with my building? Think about how bunkers situate on real golf courses. Generally the bottom of a bunker is at level with the ground around it. Instead of sculpting bunkers as pits, think of bunkers as having a high and a low side, with the low side usually being at ground level and the high side being propped up by mounding or a natural hillside. an example below of what I mean is pictured below. Not all bunkers are like this and there are indeed pit bunkers, but generally one side is still low so that a player can enter the bunker in a non-haphazardly way

Yep, thanks. Definitely more work needed on bunkers then.

Not sure the best place to ask this, but I have an error/update to the course description of my recently approved course "Alder Branch National". It mentions ("Alder Branch Par 3") at the end and I'd like it to say ("Alder Branch Pitch N'Putt") instead.
I tried to submit a support ticket but can't tell if it went through.

Grizzly Run Golf & Gun CC
Hello all, I recently just submitted a course that was not approved. I have four previous courses that were approved and have solid amount of plays and feedback. I was just looking for some feedback on this course and why it may not have been approved or what I can change to get it approved. Thank you all!

Grizzly Run Golf & Gun CC Hello all, I recently just submitted a course that was not approved. I have four previous courses that were approved and have solid amount of plays and feedback. I was just looking for some feedback on this course and why it may not have been approved or what I can change to get it approved. Thank you all! I didn't get time to play the whole course but here's some quick feedback; First look around 1. The clubhouse is floating (not a real problem as it's off to the side of the course). No driveway, surrounding planting, chairs, putting green, driving range... It just adds to the experience. 2. White tees. First tee uneven. Doesn't affect play but not a good look with a floating log on the first. 3. The first fairway is very narrow and no real layup area if you're not brave enough to use driver. 4. Greenside bunkers need a little more sculpting, they have lumps in the middle of them. 5. Second hole, that's a wild miss off the right! 6. From the left side of the green the putt down the slope doesn't hole the green. 7. My eyes catch the overgrown grass onto the path, make sure you clear all paths of grasses. 8. Third fairway has a similar issue to the first with no clear layup, so it kind of forces you to take driver. 9. Forth fairway is similar. It needs some variation. 10. The greens are probably over-sculpted for TGC use. A couple of hits with the blue fuzzy to tame them down would be more playable. There would be enough strikes to push it into not accepted. Hope this helps. Cheers Sandgroper
