Thank you to all of you that have commented on this. I have never written a condescending review when I had to reject a course. I'm sure I speak for all of us reviewers when I say we don't ever want to not approve a course. I hate doing it, because I know the designer spent their time on something they're proud of and they're just waiting to see and hear about how everyone likes it. Then we come along and have to say, we're sorry but your course did';t get approved for x, y, and z. But, it's always done tastefully and professionally. We want everyone to become great designers! That will benefit all of us. Anyway, thanks to everyone that's sticking up for us.

Absolutely agree........but, here's the thing.......many of these folks are submitting courses to this site that are not played by anyone.......let alone themselves.....So, JMO...there are folks out there that don't give a shiite about what they create...they just want to see it in the data base....Hey, it is what it is.........REVIEWERS........YOU have no need to feel bad, or apologize in any way for your thoughts on any course..

I really tried to get through Pinecrest. I had a decent round going until hole 14. Shane was nice in his criticism. I will not be. This course is atrocious. The course is autogenerated. The land sculpting is horrific and the course layout is abominable. 500 yard par 4... 110 feet uphill. 765 yard par-5. A hole where any shot in the fairway collects in a bunker. Hole 14 takes the cake, though. 543 yard par 4 with a 280 yard forced carry. Yes, the tee is elevated. I had 10 MPH in the face and couldn't clear it. Water ball. So I took out a 9I and played short of the river figuring I'll take my 7 and move on. Nope. Too much club and I bounced into the river. What crap. There are so many design flaws, it's a joke. I live in the Northeast US. Yes, we have hills and sharp drops here. It's not uncommon. What is uncommon is for a lawnmower to actually cut grass on a 60-degree incline. That's a double-black-diamond slope at any ski resort. Here are some pics to describe what I saw. Figured I'd save some people the time. This is the most daring groundskeeper of all time. Look at these slopes! This is what autogenerated fairways look like when water cuts through them. The view is great from up here! I can see everything! Well, except the golf hole. I guess it's not that important. Fun putt. 36 feet, 4 feet up the hill.

Yeah, I only got to hole 2 and was thinking this guy must be a troll, joking, or BLIND as S#&T! I want pictures of this course from New England. Are you kidding me? If this guy succeeded at anything, it's showing everyone he's an idiot. Ok, I'm done now. Thank you for putting these pictures up here too. In case anyone else has any questins as to why this was rejected...SMH!

Hey reviewers, I submitted Titan Ridge for approval and I think I want to withdraw it lol.
I mean approve it if you want but don't waste your time on it. It is completely playable but after playing others and looking around these boards realize now there are a great deal technical mistakes within in.
Just bought the game a few months ago and was pumped to get a course out there. It's too bad you can't delete published courses cause I have a couple ugly ones that my buddies did to try out not realising you couldn't remove them.
My next submission will be a beauty though!
Cheers and thanks for doing this.

I now remember why I like to visit this thread every now and then! FUN! I wholeheartedly agree, I visit this thread for the same reason. I about fell out of my chair when I read the "toxic community" line, so amusing. Good stuff!

Forest Lakes Reserve GC - Not Approved
Course had many basic errors bunkers dissecting 2/3/4 cuts of grass even greens which doesn't look very appealing.
Greens were the smallest I've seen in my reviewing career.
rough uneven from start to finish. multiple surface burns in areas around fairways.
then on the 3rd hole maybe forth can't make out my notes the tee shot was unplayable because of the trees directly infront of the tee box and a medium wind with the landing area been far to small.
Please have a look at the mass amount of videos on youtube and in the tips forum that will shine a light on these basic errors we all have to start somewhere, please continue designing just take the help that's out there.

Hogs Breath Country Club - Not Approved
A few points to note for the designer fairways are all very straight edge and same size variety is the spice of life.
Bunkers lack definition in the tips thread there is great videos on how to tune your skills
Planting is very symmetrical, there is no straight lines in nature.
And mounds infront of tee boxes will spoil the view.
One last tip use the softer brushes for elevation changes as it leaves a more natural look to the course.
Please keep designing you'll get there.

Cheers and thanks for doing this. Hey Chad, I just reviewed your course, I did not approve it, but it was really close: Titan Ridge - Not Approved For me this one is a really close deal. In his course description, the designer says that this is his first try at a course. And I tell the designer that for a first try this is a more than decent course. It's really close to being good enough to be inducted in the database. For me the main reasons for rejecting this course are the following: 1.- Terrain:I felt the terrain work was really scarce, which leads to a really strange paradox, the playing areas, specially the fairways (1st comes to mind) have very pronounced slopes, I would not like to have to mow the 1st fairway, for instance. In the other hand, the terrain work outside the areas in play lacks any kind of personality. There are some mounds here and there, but they look unrealistic. Also, there are a few tee which are blocked by mounds right in front of them. 2.- Proportions:The fairways are extremely narrow, and the greens are very inconsistent in terms of size, some of them are too small, and some of them are much bigger. I also found inconsistent the bunkers in terms of size. There is a hole on the front nine (not sure of the number) that has six pot bunkers. I don't think the player can stand in the bunkers if the ball lands in one of them, they may be around a couple of yards in diameter. 3.- Realism:I never saw a links course which features such big drops as this one brings. In my opinion, that detracts from the feeling of playing a links. Conclussion:This comment might sound as a "what a crappy course", but no, it's just the opposite. This course is close to being good. But just needs some attention in certain areas, the layout is very interesting, there is nothing that I'd call "unfair", so my advice to Chad would be as simple as play courses, take notes of the things the top designers do, and try to mimic them. And check the tutorials. They are extremely useful.

Thanks for the review Pablo.
Couldn't agree more with everything you said. Was hoping to achieve a descent down the ridge for the front 9 with climbing back up it for the back 9. However my use of the terrain tools were both terrible and infuriating at the same time lol. Having a much better grasp of these tools is making the designing of my next course much more enjoyable. Another thing was I didn't spend much time on other courses as I wanted as much of mine to be just my own ideas and not copy/borrow ideas from others. Now after playing quite a few of some of the top designers courses it really does help out with a bunch of little tips and tricks. Some of those courses are ridiculously well done.
Guessing its been brought up before but it would be a cool option if you were allowed to "walk" some of these courses lol.
Anyways thanks again and keep up the good work. Appreciate it.
