The simple method for selecting clubs and members:
Throw everyone's name into a giant bowl then start pulling them into 50 different piles representing each club. Don't reveal the names until all have been pulled.
After the clubs are picked, each club can elect a president and decide on what they'd like to have a course.
Once you've been committed to a club, you are with them for 6 months. Then a member can renew his 6 month commitment or become a free agent.
That's all I got, it's been along week for me... lol

free agents....so after 6 months everyone goes to free agency and picks and chooses their own "clique"
may as well start out that way.
there must be a better way, i just dont see it yet.

Some sort of country/continent-based competitions would be awesome. Me and Mcbogga got this.

Normally with other games where we have this method, clubs "CCs" are created randomly by a member. In this case here, maybe should be more controlled and only permit to more known members who have been consistent with their participation. Afterwards this person recruits whoever he wants. Within the country club there are captains and vice captains and stuff like. In order to have a more organized club, and for some example to know who will be in charge of selecting the 5 members of the club playing the next game. Normally smaller and more country clubs = more fun. Almost everybody in it gets to play and all that, and allows diversity and more competition among CCs (who wants to be the top club if there are only 5 rivals ).

I really don't like the idea of being put in a random club by a draw.

This sounds pretty cool. I think we should defo choose our own Country Club and have our own home course that we have to apply to so everyone has a unique course as their home course, only problem is who chooses their home course first? I play a lot of this game online with my real life mate and we'd probably set one up between ourselves for a 2 man country club initially and go from there. Just 2 people in a Country Club would be fine wouldn't it? I'm not bothered about limits on good players being in same country club, the top 20 could all be in same one if they wanted to in my opinion.

Home course for sure - but the designer is the one that should decide who can use his/her course. Just don't see the point of a two man Country club and think the concept would benefit from some structure and "limits" or restrictions. But maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture? What would be the value of your two man CC?

Fair enough pal. That's why I asked. I'd just like us two to team up against the rest of the world. But I see what you mean, not much of a country club.

My thoughts
I don't like the idea of random assignment into a club. Each Monday night I regularly play with a group of 8 - 10 people on the XB1 Designers Tour. It just happens that we are all at different tour levels here on TGCTours and we enjoy playing together, (this is the basic idea of a club.) Each week somebody will ask if their buddy can play with us (this is recruitment and the social aspect)
I like the idea of designers granting permission to use their course, especially if you can only have 1 CC per course (Not sure if that's a rule). I would hate it if some CC selected my course and now I cannot form my own CC at my course
The rest of the ideas and suggestions sound cool
I'm in
