Country will be fine. But.. only 7 dutch players on TGCT. And if I'm correct only 2 active on this forum, including myself. (the other is Marco Raterink) as someone with limited possibilities in this area i'll join the dutch for a sixpack

I don't like this red/blue team idea or split by countries etc.
Why not base it on real life golf clubs to continue the very successful principle to mimic real world golf that sets this site apart from most gaming leagues:
- CC tied to a course and place (that way we can get super exclusive ones like Augusta etc. IRL which would be awesome) - and people rallying around a club and course. This will also add another's aspect to the courses
- course must be tgct approved and use sanctioned by designer. Anyone can apply to start a CC at a course - but desinger approves. - no limit on number of members but each CC has a flighted "Playing team" according to Doyley's suggestion) - all members can play club tournaments / member guests etc (at the clubs course, of course) - but for club vs club like tavistick etc. it's only the playing team that is eligeble. Playing team selected by CC board/commitee. - everyone can be a member of up to 5CCs but only one playing team. This will improve the social aspect and allow designers to have multiple memberships. If the number of players from a certain tour would be limited it only segregates the community. Also is a great way to support courses you like and see what courses are most popular that is more decisive than the "like" system.
This somewhat restrictive set-up will limit number of CCs but I think the gain in quality will be huge. There is no value in having 500 one or two man CCs started when instead we could have the community rally around the truly great courses of the game.
Also adds a completely new dimension to put a premium on courses and the designers that make this game great. Incentive is given to be a part of the community and contribute to the course library.

great idea. as a cc-d member would be awesome to play against better players in a stableford format in club champs. handicaps would level everyone out

If we don't limit pros/cc players we can always take an average WGR of the country club to give it a "skill rank" per se. Lots of holes in that but it's an idea.
Love the throwing as much against the wall and see what sticks approach. Some great posts above!

You could randomly assign each player in a tour a colour, country, code name whatever you want it to be. Say you have four colours; red, blue, green, yellow. Assign players evenly, for example... PGA: 100 players, 25 in each group. Euro: 160 players, 40 in each group. Web: 100 players, 25 in each group. CCs: 100 players per tour, 25 in each group. Have a competition that EVERYONE plays in. And a total score for each group gives the winner (could/should be points). The players that are distributed into each group can be done based on WGC ranking so that top 20 of PGA don't end up in the same group. Can be more groups based on volume of players. All of the above could be tweaked, but it'd be good to have a tournament where the top players are reliant on those of us lower down. Nice!
An to add I wouldnt mind having some sort of comp with the big guns vs lil guns ...I mean us as in ZZ e/z
Top Tier Vs lower Tier ...possible hcp event matchplay an or stableford
