Hello, Jason here, mid 40s from Washington state USA. Been playing golf games since Leaderboard on the Commodore 64 and Golf on the original GameBoy, but never been one for the game IRL. Hadn't played a golf game in a while but I got PGA 2K21 in a bundle a while back and started it up a few months ago. About 50 hours in I hit an ace, first one I can remember in all these years playing different games on different platforms. Then I saw 2K23 on a deep sale and decided to go for it since I could cross-play with my friend on the other coast who got it on his Xbox. He is actually the same guy who introduced me to those C64 golf games way back in the day. Decades may pass but some things never really change. Currently closing in on 300 hours on 2k23 on the PC. Bulk of that was in MyCareer with Pro swing difficulty but the bulk of the assists off so difficulty multiplier for XP is 1.75x. Then 2K issued a patch that broke that mode temporarily. Since then I have mixed in some ranked matches, both solo and duos with my friend. They're a fun way to pass the time and can get quite dramatic at times. I do wish there were better rewards and ways to interact other than voice chat but it's a pretty good package all in all. Read about TGC Tours and it seemed like the next logical step up. It's a good way to find some really nice courses to play too. First four rounds were hit and miss for me this week so I'm looking forward to the challenge of improving enough to earn a card. Good luck man, and welcome! Stick with these settings in all your rounds and you'll soon get the hang of it. The journey through these tours is the most fun part! I started with Leaderboard too, although I had the ZX Spectrum. That was a wicked little game.

Guess I should swing in here and introduce my self.
Early 30's, out here the PNW. Played the snot out of my Mario Golf game as a kid on my Gameboy, but didn't really get back into golf-games until I started playing IRL golf again a few years ago. Played a decent bit of TGC, and a little in 2k21, mostly in a much smaller society, but it was still competitive as heck and I was in the lower ranks pretty consistently.
Hadn't touched the Course Creator in TGC or 2k21, and recently decided to to some RCR's of a local course in 2k23. Soon took a dive into the LIDAR data and have been fiddling with that ever since, currently with 3 courses LIDAR RCR in work, 2 fresh courses in-work. One of my golfing buddies has made a few courses, and I asked him where most of the 2k23 course-designers hang and and he pointed me here! Where I quickly saw the huge tour and dove in head first to qualifying! Was greeted with a swift kick to the self confidence when I realized what the difficulty setting were at, but I am already sinking a few birds a round, just need to clean up the blow up holes.
Part of it was so I play more "tour worthy" courses so I can get an idea what those look like

I take it you've checked out this page? tgctours.proboards.com/board/9/completed-coursesAs well as threads for new courses also lots of hints and tips for designers. Good luck with your projects! As for playing the tours you'll soon get a feel for it if you persevere. It's a lot of fun working your way up the ladder!

I started with Leaderboard too, although I had the ZX Spectrum. That was a wicked little game. I took this advice to heart yesterday and it's already paying off. I love a challenge. I also discovered there's a C64 preservation project online where you can play Leaderboard. Something new every day.

73 years old. Missouri. Haven't played real golf in decades. 9' pool table in my house. Pretty good pool player.
Have been playing this game and previous versions for some time. Just created my first designer course named Country Mile. Would appreciate some people playing it and providing feedback.

Hey all, just joined this community three long weeks ago! Played the first two events in CC-Z trying to secure my players card. What a surprise when I played my first round and did not have a bar to time my shots. Quite an experience. But been figuring it out ever since.
My name is Roger Vistain , a.k.a. SwillberTime on the PS5. I live in Winneconne Wisconsin. I am old school just turned 59 last month and I go way back in golf game history. My first ever game was Tiger 99 on the PC. Was an unreal experience as who knew we could play other people from around the world. It had a cool Tournament setup. And a bunch of leagues started up. But that online play went away as quick as it came. I went out and bought my first copy on Jack Nicklaus 6. GREAT GAME still play it to this day. Jack 6 had a gaming zone with Ladder matches. Tons of user created courses and just a great community. I actually ascended to #1 in the world on the Ladder for a couple months. I had a nemesis in a guy from New Zealand who went by Mantis. I got to know him quite well and we played a ton of matches. So we would pass the # 1 and # 2 ranking back and forth. I received a few free gifts for being in the # 1 position that included some computer games thought that was nice. Another really cool thing that was done in 99 they had the best 12 American golfers on a Ryder cup team vs The 12 best World golfers. I don't think we ever played out the Ryder cup. But I did receive a picture of Jack Nicklaus Autographed by Jack Nicklaus that said he was wishing us luck in the Ryder Cup! Pisses me off that I can't find it. Has to be in my stuff somewhere! I have been practicing 2K PGA pretty much every day, Hopefully I will qualify for one of the many tours available. I don't ever see myself rising to the rank of #1 in the world on this game. LOL I just might be a wee bit too old. Looking forward to hearing from more players, I been reading the posts from the prior 85 pages. Thanks for taking a moment and reading and please respond I like to hear more from the current players. Great job by Doyley and whomever else is behind this community! I encouraged everyone to kick in (Donate) a $5 one less beer at the local pub. A community like this is priceless! Roger

I started loving golf video games from Jack Nicklaus Greatest 18 Holes on the C64. I'm almost 50 now and I still enjoy it. I need to understand the structure of the tournaments well and what to sign up for because it all seems so complicated, some help would be welcome. I wish you all a happy day.
