Yes!!!!! I have missed you so much. Don't get me wrong, I haven't missed having to deal with you as a ranger those last couple months, but as far as characters on the forum go, few if any have ever come close to matching you. I actually just posted your classic wagtunes and Jerry video here yesterday and now here you are. Honestly happy to see you back. I saw that video yesterday and it cracked me up! Welcome back waggy I'm a newcomer but you have been missed! I'm sure there are some here who didn't miss me at all. LOL. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome back waggy ! Here are the answers to your questions: 1) PGA Tour 2K23 is the game currently used...no special DLC or anything is needed. 2) There is a qualification procedure, listed here: www.tgctours.com/Home/RulesPolicies#qualifying3) There are things in the game you earn, like fittings and skills, that you acquire by playing the game. The fittings and skills impact your player's attributes. You cannot pay for them, but you do use in-game coins (called "VC" - virtual currency) to apply the fittings to your clubs. In-game VC can be earned, but it can also be purchased with real money. There are good YouTube videos out there that explain the entire fitting/skills process. You will also likely come across mention of "consumable golf balls". These do not apply to TGCT, as they are locked out of tour play at the Society level. They are useable in all other areas of the game, so you can look up info on them if you wish. 4) The forums tend to be the main messaging center, but there have been incidents recently that have made the forums and main site unstable or unusable. Another way to keep tabs on things is the TGCT Discord channel: discord.gg/kaUhtEbW5) In terms of things you need to know...I'd check this here, where all policies and proceedures are lined out, including steps to take to get the proper HUD when playing tour rounds, etc. - www.tgctours.com/Home/RulesPolicies The game is quite a bit different from any of the TGC games, and is even quite a bit different than the previous PGA 2K entry. Personally, I feel the gameplay is very good in 2K23. There are, of course, varying opinions on this! Hope this helps Thanks for this. It helps a lot. I just wish I didn't miss the sale.

Hi All: I guess this is the right place to post the following. I'm actually an old timer who played here with the original Golf Club. I made it up to the pros but then Golf Club 2 came out and I was just unable to master it so I quit in 2019. I never looked back. Well, 4 years later, I decided to give this a go again. I don't really care how well I do. Covid has put a lot of things into perspective for me. Just being a member of this community is all I care about. But I do have a few questions just so I know I'm doing the right things in regard to participating in the tour. So here are my questions. 1. What game are we even playing? I assume it's PGA 2k23 but I want to make sure I buy the right game. That's right. I don't even have the latest game yet. So please let me know what I need to purchase and if I need to get any DLC with it. 2. I assume I have to play an initial round to determine what Circuit I get put into. I have no doubt I will start at the very bottom. In fact, I may be the absolute worst player here. From what I've read, the new game is even harder than TGC 2. 3. I also assume that it's the same as previous. If you don't make the cut after 2 rounds, you're finished. I'm pretty sure I'll be playing 2 rounds for most, if not all of my time here. Again, that's cool. Just want to interact with the people here. I missed this place. 3. I read somewhere that you can add bonuses or something to the base game as you play more. I read you have to pay for these. is this money you pay or is it through some kind of in game credit system? 4. From what I've read, the game seems to be on hold new. Something about the site being down? Will there be some kind of announcement when this is resolved? If so, where can I read it? Is there a main announcement message center? 5. Anything I haven't covered that I absolutely need to know. From what I've read, the game must be set up a certain way in order to not be disqualified. Is this posted somewhere? How complex is setup? Is this game even harder than TGC 2? I can't imagine that but the game is probably a lot more realistic too. If it is, I can deal with that. Finally, a shout out to Scott Doyley. I see you're still using the avatar from my dummy Jerry. I'm honored that you kept it up even after I left. Thanks. Anyway, looking forward to chatting with all my old friends, whoever is still here and remembers me. My original name was Wagtunes but that account seems to be gone. Thanks for giving me another chance after all these years. Wagtunes! Welcome back Jerry lives Post was so short I missed it. Thanks for the welcome back John. Yes, Jerry lives. Will be doing more videos this year. So look out for them.

In spite of my raging over aspects of this game, this was one of the ost enjoyable experiences of my life (especially when I made pro) and I miss it. Shame I just missed the sale but I can't see paying $60 for a game I could have got yesterday for $30. So I'll probably wait for the next sale. Good to see you and good to see that Scott still has that avatar. I just told my wife, looks like I'm a true celebrity. LOL I’m currently not playing on Tour right now and haven’t for years now as I kind of lost the competitive desire part way through the TGC2 days. I’m sure you’ll announce when you do get the game and sign up for Q-school I will join you in the events and we can try to qualify together. Unlike the old days you don’t automatically qualify for a tour card upon completing your Q-school week, you have to earn your card. That means you could be playing in Q-school for weeks or months or forever. Seems like it could be helpful to have someone else there for motivation and friendly competition if you don’t qualify right away.

I may just bit the bullet and get the game at full price. I do have some Steam bucks in my account. Does Q School run all the time or just at certain times? In other words, if I got the game today, could I do Q School today or is there a schedule?

So you can get the game, play the CC event to get yourself a new card, Check here for full info. You have to turn some settings on in the game now for it to pull scores correctly www.tgctours.com/Home/RulesPolicies#qualifying

Okay, couple of things,
1. I think I just played round 1 of Q-School but I'm not sure. It said Bushwood Open and that's what the Q-School page said.
2. I hope I have this set up correctly. For wind, all I see is the direction but no wind speed. For the greens, no grid at all. So I have no idea how the greens break. It almost seems like I'm playing True Sim. Is this correct?
3. I shot 41 over par for round 1. Being that bad, I'm seriously considering just refunding the game. There is simply no way I'll ever qualify and this just isn't any fun.
Any words of encouragement will be appreciated. Maybe a video tutorial. I'm totally lost out there.

If you're playing Q-School (which is the same society/event as the Challenge Circuit), you should be seeing green grids and wind speeds. Did you turn them off within your own settings?

I don't mind difficult but this is insane.

I don't mind difficult but this is insane. Hmmm, there's something not right then. Playing in CC events/Q-School means you should be seeing greed grids and wind direction and speed if you have those settings left on. Even the Platinum tour allows for green grids to be on. But green grids can be turned off by the user within their own game settings, and the society settings have that left to "Open". So if you turned grids off in your settings, it wouldn't show up when you played.

Here are the settings that are set within the societies...you cannot change any of these settings:
Swing Difficulty: Master Swing Timing: On Distance Control Meter (Platinum/Elite/Kinetic/Challenge Circuit): Off Distance Control Meter (3-Click): On Distance Control Assist: Off Putt Preview: 0 Course Yardage: Book Only Pro Vision: All off Scout Camera: UI Off Lie Grid: Open Green Grid: Open Pin Preference: Open Aim Marker: Marker Only Wind Display (Platinum/Elite/Kinetic): Meter Only Wind Display (Challenge Circuit/3-Click): Open Distance Display: Carry Swing Input (Platinum/Elite/Kinetic/Challenge Circuit): Swing Stick Swing Input (3-Click): 3-Click
But the things marked as "Open" will use whatever your personal settings are set to. So, for example, if you're playing in the CC event, and have green grids off within your settings, no grids will show up. If you turn them on again, they would show.
Also, you need to follow these steps to see elevation:
Load up PGA 2K23: Profile Menu > Display & HUD > Distance Info Position > Set to "In HUD"
This will let you see elevation information from your current position to the pin. If you have this set to "Off" or "On Marker" you will not see elevation information at all.
