I am in favour of automatically having scores submitted. While I do understand the desire to keep things as they are as some have stated in previous posts, I am a fan because I am lazy. I get that "signing" a card adds some authenticity, for the sake of ease and accuracy, I just say hey, let the computer do it. For the same reason I don't manually calculate the stats that having the API allows for, I say auto enter is the way to go, especially since this has been one of the reasons always stated when the API discussion comes up, it allows for auto score entry. Get that - but there is a value in having people coming on the site frequently as well. The see any news, bany maybe drop in the forums etc. If it's automatic less reason to go to tgctours.com. Then I think for the ones who do play but do not submit on site there should be some sort of penalty. Similar to a wrongly signed card IRL.

I'm okay with manually entering but can we still do something for people who score and don't sign their cards if they have a bad round? Is the shot type and lie recorded? Would you be able to use it to automatically check for chipping on the green? 1. yes, we're discussing that possibility 2. not at this time

I am going to be honest with you, I record my scores with a mobile device. The very first thing that pops up on arrival is the leaderboard. I scroll down, submit my score(s) and then I am done. The only time I ever "explore" further is to check my stats. By having even MORE stats available now, I suspect I will log in and dig deeper into the site more often. In fact, I just logged in yesterday for one of the first times on a "real" computer and discovered that the site is so much better looking. I think that more people will explore more with more stats. Reduce human error and have auto input. Or at the very least, don't penalize those who embrace auto entry. Less time spent doing "side-activities" like entering scores allows for more time to play the game we love.

Otherwise, why are we even bothering discussing API? Does Tiger Woods' lousy showing in the US Open not count because he sucked? Own your scores, and stop being so sensitive. ...and kneel before Zod.

I don't understand why people would want to manually input their scores now we have API. I wouldn't worry about visitors to the site either as surely people will be visiting to see how they are placing in the leaderboard.

Honestly - I just like the score entry screen and the way the signature comes up. Brilliant and feels like a proper golf tournament.

I like it the way it is entering your own rounds after youve finished adds to the whole setup of the tours we have going on it just adds that bit more realism and professianlism to it i like the idea od the api haveing all your stats saved but we what happends if there becomes glitches .. hb-studio could crash..anything could happen so dont depend on them to much.. i for one would like to keep scorecard sumiting manually

We have decided to keep the score entry mainly so we don't have a single point of failure. Plus I agree with a lot of the guys, it does make it feel more authentic. We will use the API for the automated verification process. Your score will appear on the leaderboard after properly verified via the API.

Is it possible to use the API to make the extra stats available in our player profiles?
I think that would be really nice.
