What are your fittings like on your equipment? Do you have plenty of points in forgiveness and swingplane for all your clubs? On the swingplane my advice would be to swing naturally and see what you consistently get and adjust from there. Like don’t overthink it just hold the controller how it’s comfortable for you and try to take a straight swing over and over and see if there’s a consistent miss or pattern. Then you can either a) try to straighten that out or b) have that in mind and factor it into your aim (or a bit of both) That's what I've been doing with the Razer but I'm so fed up of having to do it I've more or less given up playing. The swing plane is so poor with a Razer. To me the stick is far too loose. but the swing plane doesn't matter, look at the player plane in the video, the blue line sometimes crosses or outside the white...but the ball is always ready for a birdie

The point is the swing plane has to be allowed for, without that I hit yards left. It's this I can't really be bothered with, the adjusting for a crap swing plane, a swing plane inherent to the controller. With a new game I might get my enthusiasm back.

Looks like I missed another cut.And sadly I’m borderline getting another demotion point.Im averaging 3 events in each cc groping before I get demoted. My tee to green game has really improved since I started this back up a few months ago.In the past I’ve basically quit and would uninstall and play other games for months and months .. re install.. rinse and repeat
Where swing plane really hurts is putting.Missing those must makes that others will make time after time. And the worst is hitting a good putt and hitting the flag that makes it stay out.In this event I had that happen twice from within 5 feet
I’m not good. I get it.But averaging -6 at best makes me wonder if there is any CC groups that I would be competitive in.These other players are flat out good.Ive tried new controllers, thumb techniques, fittings, sitting at angles, even dropping down difficulty to pro or even pro am.And my average is -6 on a average decent round
Fingers crossed that 2k25 might be the one for me.Or maybe the influx of players for a new game will have a society where I’m competitive in.Always a fan of golf, and 2k23 looks great on ps5.But averaging demotion point and demotion point is getting like a everyday routine for me.Started CC a and dropped 5 levels since

Because you're right that it's really frustrating to hit the pin and have the ball stay up, but for short putts in particular there's really no good reason to leave the pin in.

Only time I ever leave the pin in is if it's dark and/or tree cover shadows the hole and I can't see it.

I always leave the pin in. Maybe once every 8 rounds will I get 1 that rebounds out.
My impression is that if you hit the pin direct it may save your putt bouncing out, but hit it at an angle with speed and it won't go in.
I guess it depends on the power of your putting technique. I'm a little different to most. If I'm on fast greens I play a little defensive and hit soft putts that only go past 1-3 ft as I don't want any bogies.
