My preference would be 4 round 7 day events as I don't wantt to have to rush tournaments to get them completed as I will be playing TAN and The Sanctuary also. But of course it's your society Craig and I will be playing every week. This set up is close to the original USE format so will be great to play on legend as this set up on 23 is as simulation as HB golf games have been.

Thanks very much for setting that up hammers1man , much appreciated. I tend to think you're right the more I think about it. Just stick to one tournament all week. And we can work out best days to start and finish. longpole I'm hoping you have a ghost for me by the time I tee off and I'll stream it. Pack your waterproofs and hand warmers Full disclosure... Round 4 might be nightmare-fuel with the setup. Make your score Thursday - Saturday then hang on for dear life! Hopefully it's enjoyable lol And this week's course preview:

Look away now if you don't want to see some of the early finishers (I know these guys won't mind me sharing scores)
Surprised myself how well I played to shoot that number. Just glad to see Round 4 was actually playable in those winds and baked fairways!
Think the settings seem to lend themselves to proper realistic gameplay and scoring so far.

I am trying to get my swingplane on track and I am happy to say it was in the last 3 rounds, a simple matter of rotating the controller slightly clockwise doh!!!. If you see my score you'll think I am mad but that was the most enjoyable 4 rounds of golf I have played on a video game, I had some awful bounces but that's golf. This is the kind of set up that makes me want to hit the range and chipping green (and believe me I will), real tournament golf. Not tricked up but very hard links conditions, miss the green and getting up and down is really hard and requires touch and skill. Some superb scores posted so far on Xbox, TGCTours has nothing that can match the skill required to score well here with any set up they have, this is the real thing, proper golf simulation. Absolutely can't wait for the next one, thanks for setting this up Craig and a cracking score you posted, very well played. Had round 4 under control on the front 9 but collapsed on the back 9.

I will also say that I don't think anyone should be using vibration on a hardcore sim tour like this as it goes against everything this society is about. Skill and touch is on you not your controller telling you when to hit it, that should be for beginner difficulties imho.

hammers1man thanks for the compliments on the set-up. I really do want to try and keep them so under par feels like a great round. And you're totally right there Portrush is absolutely brutal in those winds. You miss a few greens and you're really up against it with some chips from uneven lies to pins on little plateaus. I've been really sharp tee-to-green recently and played well for my -8. Performance on the greens cost me a chance to scare horusphoenix but realistically I'm sure he left quite a few out there too. Guys head and shoulders above me on this version. Machine. On the vibration I do agree wholeheartedly but I think until HB come to their senses and allow societies to lock this off the best we can all do is encourage people to try it off rather than make it a hard rule. That's kind of my thinking behind not posting standings etc. More to leave it as a way for people to come in for weeks when it suits and start to slowly work their way towards turning everything off. In theory! I still have the shot feedback on (tempo and swingplane) just while I get used to the Razer. I think I'll keep it on for one more week at Kinsley Manor this Wednesday then take the plunge afterwards because I'm starting to get more of a feel for it now. Funny you mentioned that I actually went to the range for the first time in this version after those rounds. Was going to play some other society and decided to stick some music on instead and hit some shots on legend from 150 yards and in for half an hour. As you guys know I'd totally fallen out of love for these games but these settings, on tough courses and conditions have pulled me right back in. Demonondalinks would be great to see you on here if you do find the time but I know what it's like mate. I've struggled to get on this one as much as I'd like to as well. Both for important reasons (work, family) and unimportant (other games lol)

So turned it off for my latest round on TAN yesterday, it's so much more enjoyable just watching the ball flight, will keep on SF for the range and chipping green from now on.

8 hours or so left for Week Three at Royal Portrush. My events stats for the four rounds (-8). Fairways in Reg: 66% Greens in Reg: 76% Proximity: 23 feet Short putting: 94% (ffs) Medium putting: 59% Long putting: 16% Scrambling: 76% 16 birdies, 8 bogies, 48 pars. Really can't stress enough how much I enjoy these settings and how much fun it is to have to get slightly more immersed in your round and give some thought as to possible misses and good leaves. Loved it. Thanks to everyone who tried it, started or finished your rounds. Hopefully you all enjoyed it too. Next up is Kinsley Manor from tomorrow for six days by @bearforlife73 . I'm hoping to be able to do a quick course preview tonight on twitch but it depends on whether I fall asleep after dinner 🤣 work has been crazy lately. Play well! Edit: and a massive thanks to hammers1man for setting these up on PS & PC. Absolute legend!
