it's not an advanced controller, you still have to learn how to use it, you're wrong to think that...I buy a razor and master and legend levels become child's play, they are always complicated levels to play with any controller, the only thing I can tell you to say is that with 2K21 the pro level corresponds to the master level 2K23, and the 2K21 master level corresponds to the legend level 2K23... in fact the legend level of 2K21 is unplayable for anyone, even for the best players in the world If the controller has more polling points it’s more advanced & if you’re buying it to bring your scores down as a competitive player it’s making that achievable. Is that making it easier for that experienced player…..I’ll let everyone make their own mind up on that. I see it’s worth for cross platform competition but to be honest playing an Xbox only society on Legend & making them swing results more achievable with an after market controller has me wondering why you’d bother. Just my opinion but unless the entirety of the society are razor users it’s an unfair advantage. Do you think the game was designed to have limited points achievable for tempo. If so why does the game not play the same on every controller then?. The simple fact is the game is broken for low polling rate controllers and does not play as intended. The game requires more accuracy for measuring speed and PS controllers and the Razer gives that accuracy but also makes straight swing lines much more difficult so there is a trade off in difficulty right there. So the game is easier if your tempo is consistent with a Razer over Official Xbox controllers. Isn't that a good thing getting rewarded for good consistent tempo rather than rounding off to the nearest tempo points which results in inconsistent tempo in the game. The fact that legend is unplayable with an official controller on Xbox says it all really, they are broken for this game. This is more down to Microsoft than the actual game when it plays more true to design with a 3rd party controller.

I will also argue that bumping up the skill to legend is making the game more difficult anyway. This game is more than just tempo, it is more penal for swing plane especially on legend swing difficulty.

Using Official Xbox controllers results in too much rounding off of tempo points so they are not as accurate to your actual stick speed timings. Also they are very easy to hit a straight line with I have found from using them on these games for many years. Personally I just don't think they suit this game with the latency of the controller and legend difficulty is not actually playable with them on Xbox and I would say borderline playable on PC. As for easier controller, you could say the same for DS4 and DS5 also as with the Razer they make tempo points more accurate they don't round them off to too few points and most importantly they don't make bad tempo into good tempo. The razer is the most difficult controller to hit straight swing lines amd I have tried every official controller on these games including the Switch Pro controller which has all the same problems as Xbox controllers with the same 125hz polling rate. Also this thread is about a multi platform hardcore Sim Tour first and the fact that Xbox Sim players can compete on this game finally on it's hardest difficulty setting is great news. Tbh Sim societies are pretty scarce on PS and PC but there is a really good sim community on Xbox. I did not think societies had been included in cross platform play so are the razer controllers just purchased for TGC rounds. It seems pointless playing an Xbox only society on Legend & then making it easier with a more advanced controller…..?? TAN is cross platform USE is cross platform. Yeah I really want an even playing field but the point of this thread is myself and others like myself are looking for more challenge especially in the long game on every platform. TGCTours doesn't have a hardcore mode and I think having one would really add something to these tours.

For the Record, I play with an Officially Licensed Xbox Elite Series 2 (Black Color). I find that it is completely different than the Elite 2 Core (White Color) which is cheaper but doesn't respond on my pc as well. I bought a Wolverine Razer V2 and hit over 100 swings with it on the range. Over 95% of the swings ended in nothing but 100% Full Slows. Unplayable for me on my setup. I did not calibrate it in or out of game. I read that it needed to be calibrated but I don't want the headache. Got a Full Refund instead. The Elite Series 2 works perfectly out of box, and I've never had to calibrate it in or out of game. I may break down and buy a PS5 when 2k25 rolls out just to see if it really makes a difference. I have my doubts that it will make any significant difference in my per round stroke average. The PS5 should be a little bit cheaper in price and I don't want to buy one now and have to regrind out this game. I like playing video games on my pc anyways and am in no rush to buy another gaming console. I have my original Atari, Nintendo, PS 2, 3 and 4.

Playing true sim legend with the razor on xbox certainly feels more realistic, the pulls and pushes on the swing plane makes them approaches much more realistic. Yep it's a shame that it doesn't feel fair to some xboxers who play with the stock in certain societies. But its a passed api controller and peeps have a choice . I know a few who can't get on with it . But u must calibrate it to avoid getting them very slows

Is that how we're supposed to do it? Now nobody suggested that Pen but if you’ve mastered the game that could be an option. For me Xbox tempo is what’s failed this game but for many its unpredictability is what keeps them coming back to play time & time again because it’s not repeatable consistently day to day. As said it’s my opinion but buying a controller to play a niche game on a niche difficulty setting is significantly reducing player base. Agreed it’s a frustrating situation that HB have ignored & quoted as saying all is working as intended but knowing players are gaming scores with more advanced hardware is a problem for me.

But isn't this problem not just on niche games, Rocket League is hardly niche and there are many complaints about Xbox controllers on that game's various forums. I am sorry but when you have have very few controllers on Xbox with better latency than that really bad 125hz polling rate that is a Microsoft problem. To be honest you have the same problem with Nintendo Switch which is also 125hz, it's ok for casual games but lacking big time for competitive games. Yeah you might get better battery life over bluetooth but many would prefer their controllers more responsive with less battery life or just have it plugged in through USB. I play Celeste which is an old skool twitch platformer quite a bit. I wouldn't go near it with an official Xbox controller as they are just not responsive enough for a game like that imo. And your comment that people are are gaming scores is absolute nonsense. So everyone that uses a Playstation controller is gaming scores then. I think commenting about something you don't quite understand in such a negative way is pointless.

The Wolverine is my only controller for any game. It's very reliable.

Count me in. I'd be 100% up for this if it gets the go ahead. I think quite a lot of us have been crying out for a tour like this under TGC.

Just giving this a bump after an awesome match with horusphoenix tonight around Birkdale on these settings. Far and away the best way to play the game this. Not sure if any of the admins have seen this thread or have any thoughts on having a separate tour on these settings (or how much of a pain in the arse it would be to accommodate it on the back end). I'm sure plenty of us guys would volunteer to help run it.

Or maybe an alternative would be to treat it like a real life society and we just pick a course each week, play in fourballs and stream it? Even set up a discord or something.

There are so many all aids flights here, one single sim tour and it's boring to me, where is the challenge and not just for a few but for everyone. It seems to be a casual tour first, we need societies to have a challenge on this game as that's ignored here. Endless flights where everyone is shooting the lights out all the way down and they can't make a sim tour too difficult because we will scare people off, now that's so f'ing frustrating for people who love sim golf. If we had a proper sim tour here maybe the tour would have more donations from people who really care, because a lot of people take it for granted that a lot of time goes into running even a simple society let alone what they have here. HB/2K needs to get on the cross platform society next game as it would elevated this game to the next level for real sim golf in this game.
