Just doubled my season's donation figure and thrown another 20 dollars into the jar. Well Doyley did give Simulation Tour a try this week and though he won't admit it we all know he had a little word to 2K about those silly consumable balls 😉 I don't play any tour here but these forums do a lot for the many societies out there. We have hit over 7000 so less that 5000 to go, let's see how quickly we can hit that 12000 number. 21 hours later and we are over 8000 now. Great stuff 😁 |

As much as we might think that HB and/or 2K should sponsor us because they need us, IMHO we are just a happy accident for 2K that we are here. In fact, we are lucky that Tiger jumped on board otherwise the golf franchise may not exist. I think sponsoring TGCT would be a small but significant boon for 2K, would make them look good, but doubt they would go down that road for many complicated reasons.
That leaves it up to the TGCT faithful to pony up. The numbers estimate 1500 playing the tours, how many of those would disappear if they saw even a $10 price tag for the site? People are cheap, especially casuals, and they already plopped down a chunk of cash for the game...NOW you want them to PAY for this? We know the value, but casuals don't unless they are looking for community.
That leaves us to voluntary donations. That system will always have freeloaders, but maybe the TGCT forum faithful can get the site over the hump. I put in a lump donation a few weeks ago but setting up a reoccurring for a smaller amount will be an easier pill to swallow AND help keep the fun flowing here.
Onward TGCT minions, let's keep this site going!

I actually thought more about this after saying the other day I think they should help out. I'm no defender of 2k by any stretch but I wonder if they can't be seen to be promoting the use of recreations of rl courses for legal reasons. Just a thought that occurred to me. |

I don't think it's good to be tied into 2K. Their society is more for casuals as is their awful set everything to easy ranking matches. This is a community site that is supported by it's community, if 2K want to help I am sure anyone that is part of the company could drop a healthy donation here. It is just very disappointing that so few of the very many that play here decide not to support it at all. If the 1200 of those who play regularly that don't pay chipped in 5 dollars that would be 6000 to the fund.
