Yeah, sadly they seem to manage to create new bugs every patch, despite us having asked repeatedly for them to just test the designer before patching the game... I'd second Scottish's method of saving regularly and backing up - if you have Discord, just create a personal server and drop the file in there at the end of every session.
HBH, it's not really a game crash this time - the game will just start not responding for some reason. Particularly common if you leave the designer idle (can be for as little as five minutes).

FYI, 2K/HB are keen for more multiplayer courses to add to playlists in future. If you'd be interested in that, I'd suggest publishing a Tour version. The main thing they would be after is Out of Bounds added to all non-playable areas (see Emery Beach or Lachlan Crossing for examples of what we had to do) and adding crowds (tournament objects not necessary). Obviously doesn't guarantee anything, but it would help your chances.

In case anyone was panicking, a reminder that the deadline is August 10th (midnight) due to the infernal crashing issues. Looking forward to the last courses coming through

As some of you will have seen, we have a course drop from tpetro, who wasn't initially in the contest. I had some designers accept their invites after the contest officially started, having been away from the forums due to various understandable reasons: the game not being that great, real life stuff etc. My decision was to have them enter as first alternates, but only assuming we had enough withdrawals so that we would still need SOME of the current alternates. As things stand, I will still need at least two from the current alternate pool (these publishes aside). I appreciate that decision may not be perfect for everyone, but felt the best way of not rejecting people who didn't see the forum post in time whilst still allowing those who did sign up a fair chance of being involved. As for which group petro and the others go in and who has dropped out... not revealing any of that yet. Wouldn't want anyone getting complacent

In the final extension to the ever-extending contest, a few people have asked if they might have until the end of the weekend, which makes sense. I picked the 10th at random, not looking at the days and the crashes are still incessant on PC, so I'm happy to grant it. I appreciate this is unusual for contests, but I've never known a contest window so punctuated by the amount of crash issues that we have endured on PC. Fingers crossed they can fix it for the next patch.
Sunday 13th August at midnight wherever you are is the absolute final publish time.

Delighted to announce that nitro22 is joining the field with Noordhoek Golf Links. Another who replied to the invite a little late, it’ll be very cool to see him compete with his first course in this game. As with Petro, I won’t announce which designer he will sub in for, so you can all just worry. There may be more. Stay tuned…

And that is a wrap, with all courses published, bar those who had informed me that they were withdrawing. I'll reveal the final groups on stream this afternoon, including which of our alternates made the field and where our late entrants grovey31 , tpetro and nitro22 will slot in so that you can all play the groups properly and decide for yourself. I can already say that there are some extremely competitive groups and we will have courses finishing fourth in their group that would have progressed this time a year ago and some outstanding courses will finish third in their groups and not progress. Kudos to all who made the deadline and have put out great courses. Just awesome to see how the general level keeps getting better - certainly the highest average level of courses we've ever had for a World Cup, including the alternates, some of whom will be very unfortunate to not make it into the main field. TLDR: Something something community is the real winner etc.
