EA PGA Tour is an awful port in my experience. Very limited in graphic options, the swing has awful input lag by design so it feels like you're streaming the game even with higher framerates. There are zero upscaling options which is unheard of with most recent PC games so you will be running at native 4K and will have to drop a few settings to maintain 60 fps. Of course with VRR it doesn't matter if you just drop below your 60 fps target. The RTX 4070 is a great card, you'll see a huge performance upgrade from your 1070, you will also be getting DLSS 3. I use DLSS 3 for Plague Tale and Witcher 3 when running Ray Tracing, both games look fantastic. You will also be amazed how good DLSS is in performance mode (upscaled from 1080p). DLSS 3 doesn't make games more responsive but those higher framerates really make them run so much smoother. I'll go with the RTX 4070 in my new PC, having read your comments. I was afraid you were going to confirm the input lag, even on a 4070, but thanks for being straight up about it. Do you still get a sense of "swinging the club underwater" on your system, when you're easily maintaining 60 FPS? I just get the sense there are only a limited number of animation frames made available by the code to allow whatever system the game is being played on to deliver them at 30 FPS, no matter what the hardware is capable of supporting. I will be buying a VRR capable HDTV to go with my new system, whenever that comes about. Looking like early June right now.

The swing is animation is smooth on EA's game at high framerates but it is also a very slow backswing speed that just feels totally off. With VRR you will have nice smoothness till about the mid to high 40fps then you really notice it. Anything in the 30fps range just feels awful to me on any game, but like you I am very sensitive to framerate smoothness and 30 fps looks terrible to me, slideshow like lol. The good thing is that LG's OLED range support GSync which has a range from 30hz to 120hz and it work great with a modern Nvidia GPU.

To anyone interested in installing Windows 11 on the Steam Deck I have had it up and running on a 500 GB SD card and it runs great. I bought a 500 GB SD card for £40 plus a portable 15 inch 144hz 1080p portable monitor for it for £150. So I basically have a budget gaming laptop for £600 as I already own a BT Keyboard and mouse. What I love is I have the option to run it as a handheld portable or as a laptop with full Windows. I did buy the Windows 11 licence for £25. It is amazing that you can run it like this on 15W, the screen can be powered by the Steam deck with just 1 USB C cable or just plug in an extra USB C to the monitor which will charge the Steam Deck. Takes a little bit of work but it's nice to have Windows 11 and Steam OS on the device, this is a great video to setting it up for Windows 11 on an SD for your Deck if you're interested.

Hoping I could get some feedback from this group on pre-built PC's that will enable this game to run at near max graphic settings without costing me a bundle. Have an Xbox One X, used to game on PC and looking to for a few games especially this one that apparently runs and looks better than even on the Series X. I have bought PC's from Ironside in Wisconsin previously and have been happy with them but open to all options. Please let me know your thoughts when you get a chance. If no specific PC's, if you could provide the min for Processor, Graphics, Memory etc to get very good results with PGA2k23 would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's tough to recommend without know your budget or what resolution you will be gaming in. 2K23 does have DLSS if you go the NVidia route and DLSS is a superb upscaler if you are using a 4K monitor/tv. The good thing is PC hardware is dropping in price so is better value compared to consoles then it's ever been. For example the Ryzen 5600x is an absolutely superb CPU for the price, pair that with a RTX 4070 in your pre build and you have yourself a pretty great mid range PC that would play this game very well.

Hammers thanks for the reply. I would be connecting this PC to my big screen TV and want to play in 4k. Will your configuration recommendation allow me to play in 4k smoothly with most graphic settings high in your opinion ? Also, any other considerations you think I should be mindful of when putting this together ? Thanks again.

You will be pretty much maxing out settings with that GPU and CPU at just over 60fps I should think, you could even use the game's DLSS Quality mode to boost your framerate even more. I have a Ryzen 5800x3D and a RTX 4070ti and I get 90fps to 120fps at native 4k and TAA, I use an LG C2 42inch TV on my desk which has Gsync so the game is ultra smooth. OLED are great for gaming and 2K23 looks awesome with HDR. Does your TV have hdmi 2.1? if so you can use VRR on your new PC that also make a big difference for smoother framerates.
